Talking The Silver Hawk! The new Verna SX ABS

After the sleepless nights spent waiting ,there she was the Verna SX ABS.
The car was to be delivered on 23rd this month. Grabbed the T-BHP PDI before anything else and proceeded to inspect the car.

It was indeed shocking to see how the cars are tormented in the stockyard . First sights reminded me of the World war II Jeeps. No scratches passing all the PDI taks.

Now the day of delivery, went through a quick scan again and went through the pooja and Drive home. It was raining and about 6 in the evening, could hardly see a thing even with the headlamps on... the stock Bulbs are crap and have to go. She needs a better set of optics (Better bulbs or even HID's would be great).

Had the Sunfilms done on Saturday and A/C feels much better now.

Apart from the normal stop and go city driving, had a short drive in the Bangalore-Krishnagiri Highway, below are my thoughts and findings

Driving conditions:
28-36 Degrees C
Dry

Pros:
> Superb Refinement.
> Great pickup/torque
> Chilling Air Con
> Diesel

Cons:
> Significant Tyre noise.
> Poor headlamps
> No Airbags for a car this expensive
> Dull Fog lamps

Here are the gear shift patterns I followed:
0-15 > First
15-30 > Second
30-50 > Third
50-60 > Fourth
60-80 > Fifth
(never crossed the 2.8K RPM mark yet)

Now here are my queries :
The SX ABS version is equipped with Keyless entry and has following issues:

1) No Lock/Unlock Beepers attached.
2) No reverse beepers attached.

Showroom claims that these features donot fit well with the SX model.
Need our mighT-Bhpians input on this.

Hey Bro,

Congrats on your new car . Looks really cool. Have loads of fun. I would suggest change the stock hedlamps to Phlips Rally 90/100 with Roots Ceramic holders. Do you plan to upsize the tries as well??

Regards,
Sajan

congrats on your new car maverick. On some thread, it is discussed that Osrams are better than Philips rally as they are of same wattage as the existing bulbs. It just plug and play. Kindly check that option as well. Not sure whether it is car specific.

@Tez great to know that options exist. When you said the same wattage, is it the 110/100's we are talking about?

maverick, the Osrams are not 110/100s. The detailed discussion is on the thread
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/test-d...atch-ii-9.html (A Swift Shift: Hydra's Hatch II) (A Swift Shift: Hydra's Hatch II) ): where they have compared philips rally to osrams. Hope this helps
