I have a Getz CRDi and it is mentioned in owners manual that no formal breakin is required. Its good not to put too much stress on the engine during initial period.
So drive sedately without putting more stress till you cross 1000 or 1500KM like i am doing. The car will pay you back with good stuff in the long term.

Yeah, Hyundai is really doing it now !! No Wheel covers, No Ashtray or Lighter even. Did get 4 Power windows with Driver Auto Down, Fog Lamps, Rear Armrest & Defogger thankfully.

Thanks DJ - Yeah I suppose you are right. Will wait till around 1200 - 1500 kms and get the 1st service done and then test her/him out.

Tires are going to be stock for now. ICE I am thinking of JVC ( SOme EXAD with a small screen in the HU playing DVD's ), some components and an AMP.

Or maybe a Pioneer 7'' touch screen Let's see. I have a budget of 30 - 40k.

Congrats for the Verna and IMO, White is the best color in this car!

The engine is a gem and designed to bring a big grin to self and a huge gaping hole in the faces of fellow car drivers. I have driven the car on numerous occasions and it never ceases to amaze me with its power. Even in 4th gear, the accelaration is phenomenon and passengers sitting behind will feel the pull of the car, its that awesome.

However, i felt the suspension aren't as stiff as it should be and makes the car quite bouncy, even on wider tyres. This is especially felt at the back. Look forward to know what people who sit in the back of your car have to say at higher speeds ( say above 100kmph)

That is precisely the feedback I got from my kids last year, while TD'ng the Verna CRDI. I really fell in love with the rocket, but was dissuaded by my kids,offering unbiased feedback. This apart, my daily commute (17 kms both ways then) did not justify a diesel. Another thing that put me off was that there was only one variant then of the CRDI, without the frills of the XXi like driver's armrest, ICE, ABS, etc.
Nevertheless, if I were to buy a diesel sedan under 9 lacs today, it would definitely be the Verna.

i just read somewhere that putting a more viscous oil in the dampers will make them more stiff and offer a better ride. Can the gurus comment?

Vkochar congrats on the new ride. White Verna definately looks good. Couple of suggestions though.(don't mean to offend). 1.Lose the steering cover. Doesn't belong in that car. 2.Wheels please!

vkochar, 7.6L is a great price to own this beauty. Congrats on the white rocket. Waiting to hear about the alloy/ICE upgrade soon.

Too bad that cars in this range don;t come with ABS as mandatory fitting.

I dont think Verna Crdi's Price has increased I think thats because it is 1493 cc and just short of 1500cc,So verna Crdi has escaped the tax increase.

TOI says only Verna Petrol Tax is increased as it is 1599 cc.
