Default Great buy vinit

Hello Vinit,
You have made a great buy.The car is the definition for mint condition.Few suggestions
1.Do all the maintanence work first,like oil change,battery change(if needed),Injector cleaning.etc
2.Change your license plates to some new fibre ones.I paid some 200 bucks when i did for my Siena.
3.Change your rear tail lamp(RHS).It is the only drawback for an otherwise beautiful car.
4.Get all the rust removed(i dint see it,but heard u say).

1.2 Siena ELX

From the pics, it looks like a really well maintained car and at that mouth-watering price, too! Congratulations!

Can anyone tell me where is the Chassis number embossed on the Palio. I tried to find it out but could not. Need the same as backup for Transfer.

Also, a small update. There was one small problem wherein the AC outlet pipe was jammed with mud so the water was coming inside the cabin.
Today when I went for Wheel balancing and Alignment, I removed the mud with a slim screw driver and the problem is now resolved.

The chassis number is below the driver's seat. you will have to push the drivers seat towards front and you will find a slit once you remove the floor mat. Hope this helps. otherwise can post a pic of that tomorrow

Is this accessible from the rear after pushing the front seat fully forward? Should the rear Floor mat be removed?
Also, there is another covering below the Plastic Floor mats in Palio. Will there be an opening in this covering as well?

Got fixed the 5th Gear slip issue at high speeds last Saturday. Have mentioned in detail the experience at the FIAT Service Station at http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/techni...1-6-gtx-3.html (5th Gear Slip at speeds higher than 120 - Palio 1.6 Gtx).
Attached are some pics of the interiors of the car which I could not upload earlier.

I bought it for 1.60L. A less run & well maintained car so worth the premium.
Else a 2002 Palio isn't worth more than 1.45L.

Above the right side A/c vent, it is not a switch. It is a light for the remote control
and the Burglar alarm.

Hi Vinit,

sorry buddy had a hectic day to start with, couldn't reply
Yes, there is one more covering below the plastic mats. you need to pull this see the chassis number. usually you will find that an opening in that mat right below the driver's seat. Hope this helps

my mechanic once told me that there is a way to find out whether the odo has been tampered or not.if it has been tampered than the speedo meter pointer doesnt move smoothly while accelerating or decelerating.it shivers and vibrates a bit.dunno how far its true.any one know anything abt it?
