Congrats neon. Santro is a pretty decent car. AFAIK, they might be stopping the production in next couple of years. Hope you have done your homework properly. Why did you not go for i10 ?

My FE measurement is not accurate. And moreover I haven't done a tank full yet. There was no petrol available in 3 gas stations that I visited yesterday. Finally I went to Shell and have filled again for Rs. 500 (Price Rs. 69.05/litre). Lets see how much I get now with Shell.

Thats really fast. The car was ready the next day itself. But I requested for change in the colour, so had to wait for one more day for the Space silver, and had the number plates ready on 2nd day. I waited for some auspicious day and time to take delivery.

Not sure if the production will be halted. With so many Santro's on road, I hope there is no issue with sourcing any spares. Moreover I am not much bothered of resale. I will probably use it for 4 years, and then keep this as a Second car when I go for a new one after that. For AT the only option in my budget was Santro. i10 Auto might come with the 1.2ltr engine. I needed a car soon, as we have a 2 month old baby now. Do not want to travel with the Kid on 2 wheeler in Bangalore trafic and rain.

Hi neon,

That is the socket that you use to put in a car charger!

Congratulation for your AT Santro. We need detail owenership report.

1. What is the incidental charges (Rs. 4500) you paid ?
2. What is the pedal doing at the clutch side of car ? I think in AT only 2 pedals are there Brake and Accelarator.

Nice interior pictures neon. I guess the fabric is better than the earlier models. That switch on the gear lever is for OD isnt it?

Default Congrats :)

Hi Neon nice ride u got congrats

-> Please get the lighter fixed from the authorized dealer. Local would be cheap but most of them are not reliable.

Coming to FE the figure u mentioned seems to be very low. my Santro GL gives me some where around 16-18 KMPL.

I do 110 KM daily and i spend 300 rs daily for petrol.

Is this the norms in AT ?.

Yes thats what it is for. Right now it just has a covering, I will get a cigarette lighter to fit in there.

No idea what that incidental charges are. Something which goes to the dealer?
And yes as Shatrughna pointed out its just a left foot rest

Just checked few older santros. I could find only one which probably had the original seat covers. All other cars either had put some cover or the other apart from what they got along with the car. The present fabric has nice texture, although I still feel the seats are bit on the harder side. Yes the small switch on the gear lever is for OD

Thats a great FE figure. (I assume 18 is for long drives, speeds close to 70-80kmph and w/o AC).

So here is an update on my FE. I have made a dot marking on the fuel gauge for my reference (Near the "E" or empty mark). The low fuel warning does not stay continouly. I had filled up petrol worth Rs.500 from Shell at Rs.69.05/litre. So 7.24 liters. Trip meter now shows 73kms again at the same marking. All driving in City, Moderate trafic, Max 50kmph, 90%AC. So I guess the FE is 73/7.24 = ~10.1 kmpl.

So I guess w/o AC 11.5kmpl and longer drives (13.5 kmpl), which I hope would increase a bit after 1st service (Hope so) to probably 15 kmpl.
I will keep the thread updated with FE figures and maintainance costs, mods and anything related to Santro AT.

This might be a Bangalore thing, pardon my ignorance. What kind of fuel costs Rs.69/lt ?? And I thought we were paying like crazy in Mumbai.

Nopes, the radio antenna is not a standard accessory with the Hyundai Santro. You have to buy it seperately. But its dirt cheap, if thats any consolation.
