Default Took Delivery of 1.3 Palio SDX

Guys,

Got the delivery of my Palio Stile 1.3 SDX today morning from Concorde. Colour Carbon Black. The delay was because of the bomb blast on Friday and as a result they did not send the vehicle for registration. Took it to the Ayappa temple in the vijaya bank layout for the pooja and then drove to office in the new car.

Initial impression that i felt was the the body of the car was not as good as the old palio petrol models (i own a petrol palio 1.2 nv sports model also). They have done some cost cuttings but it still retains some from the older or rather the features such as door closing with a thud etc ... The noise from the engine is there, but it is acceptable after all it is a diesel engine. The power is amazing. I can feel the power once the rpm crosses 1500 and is linear.

Will keep updating the thread as i do more driving ....

Regards,

Sridhar

Congratulations for you new possession. By the way what is the OTR price in Bangalore?

New car announcement without pics seems to incomplete. Waiting for pics for your new Palio SDX.

I agree, we had a Palio D. But Palio is still value for money compared to cars in the segment.

Enjoy the power.

Congratulations on the wonderful vehicle bro. A couple of weeks back I had gone along with a fellow bhpians (amarprusty) vehicle iced and it was an awesome experience. A couple kept staring at the car and then after 10 min came over to ask about the vehicle. Another guy who had booked the swift vxi checked the car out and was cursing himself for not going in for the palio mjd.

Have a wonderful experience and yes, get used to questions and attention

Congrats Sridhar. This is the first time I am hearing that Fiat has done some cost cutting on Palio. Can you please explain in detail, on what all matters you felt that cost cutting has been done.

Congrats on the new steed. The MJD looks best in Black and White. I have test driven the MJD and I didn't feel much difference in the steel thickness used (I have a 1.2 nV SPorts). There is evident cost cutting which is mostly cosmetic like no plastic cladding on B pillars, puny hand brake, no immobiliser to keep the price below the Swift. But still it is a great buy.

I keep seeing increasing number of Palio's on the road. Not many MJD's in Pune though. A lot of 1.1 SLX and 1.6 Sports though.

Enjoy your ride!!!!
