Yes, you got me right DCEite.

I am not talking about Turbo lag but the acceleration.

I am glad that you noticed this.

I have a question regarding the Quadrajet. Does quadrajet have 5 jets for fuel injection ? One leading newspaper who taught me 1 > 2 + 3 + 5 have claimed that quadrajet has 5 jets for fuel injection, but going by the name (quadra), I am forced to believe that it has only 4 jets. Can anyone throw some light ?

For a price difference of 25,000 (Saffire) and 28,000 (Quadrajet) in Delhi, are the following Aura features VFM over Aqua?

1. Rear fog lamps
Not an absolute necessity
2. Body color door handles
Don't care much about these
3. Body color rub-rails
Don't care much about these
4. Dual tone beige interiors (instead of dual tone grey)
Well ... nice
5. Rear power windows
How often do we need power on rear windows anyways
6. Music system
Not the best in sound quality
7. Height adjustable drivers seat
Reqiured
8. 60:40 split rear seats
Useful, but again, not a necessity
9. Warning buzzers
I can definitely live without them

So for me, it filters out to the following (for around 25K more):
1. Dual tone beige interiors (instead of dual tone grey)
Nice
2. Height adjustable drivers seat
Reqiured
3. 60:40 split rear seats
Useful, sometimes

Post Vista Delivery Timeline Update

Hi Folks,

I just called my sales contact at Concorde Motors in Bangalore to get an update on the now prevalent delivery timelines.

She quoted it will take 4 to 5 weeks time for delivery of the Vista. I didn't ask this specific for any variant. But when I mentioned I'd be interested in getting the Cavern Gray quadrajet in 4 weeks time, she confirmed it can be delivered in 4 weeks.

Concorde Motors - Diary Circle, Bangalore - (080) 6667 8200

I'm going to wait until beginning of October 3rd week for any possible Diwali offers and book a quadrajet. I still doubt if any offers will be thrown in, but since I can hold the purchase until then, I will to just check..

From the TM press release:

........The Quadrajet operates at 1400 bar with 4 injections per cycle and delivers a high torque of 190Nm over a flatter speed range for better city driving......

Here's the linky:

Actually this is one important feature at least for me.

What if you drop off some colleagues on your way home and they forget to wind up the rear windows before they get down?

You have to get off and then open the rear doors to wind 'em up!

But in the front passenger seat you can just bend over (if you are driving) and roll it up!

Other than those you mentioned, the Aura also features rear defogger and wiper.

I did, today. 65 BHP for the size of Vista is too less. I felt it to be very sluggish. (2 to 3 kms city drive it was) We were only three of us in the car. I am sure with the car fully loaded with 5 passengers and with AC 'ON', it will be a pain to drive in B to B traffic.

THe engine though is very quiet and the AC powerful. I was, anyways ,interested in either TDi or Quadrajet, so did not take a second hard look at Saffire.

TDi is still not available at any of the dealers. First week of October is the earliest possible date for TDing the TDi.

As someone has pointed out in earlier posts, the delivery period is 6 weeks, for both Saffire and QJet.

Aqua also features the defogger, aura just adds a rear wiper.

Was reading Auto Bild yesterday. They have voted SWift Vdi as the best followed by Palio MJD and last is Vista.

Main reasons are fit finish/handling/interiors/safety features/resale.

VFM segment Vista/Swift/Palio

I think this is a very fair and objective assessment.

Though Vista is definitely improved it is better as compared to the previous Indica. They still have miles to go to reach international levels.

My take is Swift will lose some customers but only those who don't want to wait for 4-5 months for the car. MJD would be the main loser here unless Tata-Fiat offers some discount which is unlikely.

If you go by that logic, i10 may beats all hatch backs: finish/interiors/safety/resale(probably).
