Or use the first gear synchro to slow things down and then shift into 2nd. Same issue on my Swift too which is nearing a lac kms.

Got the car serviced today at 1 lakh 26600 km.
The things that were done were:

1) Front brake cleaning with caliper pin greasing
2) Intercooler Cleaning
3) Engine Oil + Oil filter replace
4) Air Filter Replace
5) Fuel Filter Replace
6) Suspension retorque
7) Wheel balancing

Got a bill of Rs-6166

The car feels as good as new.

Happy to report there is no timing chain noise still, the engine is as silent as when it was brand new.

Oh Damn, Sorry I missed your post, let me search for the bill and see if I can find it.

The car just completed 1 lakh 40 thousand kilometres.

At 1 lakh 37 thousand kilometers, the following things were done at Ravi Automobiles

1) Front brake pads changed, they lasted only 35 thousand kilometres this time
2) Rear Shock Absorbers ( It comes with the complete package, just remove the old one and install the new ones, got them from Industrial Buying at Rs. 2500 and got them changed at Ravi, the upper stopper and the lower bush for the springs was changed too. The car now rides much higher from the rear, the shock absorption is much better, the rear end at high speed corners stays put.
3) The front suspension was overhauled with the strut bushes changed.
4) Engine Oil change
5) Coolant Change

All this costed me Rs 9000 rupees includes the prices of the struts ordered online.

at 1 lakh 38 thousand kilometre, I got the following things done at Navneet Motors (Thane)

1) 1st and 2nd gear synchroniser ring changed
2) Clutch plate, Pressure plate, Flywheel, release bearing
3) AC Overhaul ( Had never got it touched in 8 years and looked like it was high time)
4) AC idler bearing as it was making a noise
5) Coolant was leaking from the EGR pipes, they cleaned the EGR and replaced the pipes.

Setback - Rs 25000/-

The car needed a wheel alignment too, got that done at Premji's in Thane, costed Rs 500

The tyres were leaking air from the steel rims, so got them opened at a shop in Ghatkopar, got the rims sprayed with a special oil which does not let air escape from the seams of the rim, got all the valves changed too and wheel balanced too, Costed Rs 1700

All in all, a well spent Rs 36000 and the car feels like its brand new again, she just touched 1 lakh 40 thousand today, but the way she feels it looks like she has not even touched 10% of her life, Plan to shift to MGDO 5W-40 Synthetic oil in the next oil change at 1 lakh 43000 kilometres

Mods: Please change the title of the thread to Dreams @ 2000 rpm - My Swift at 1 lakh 40 thousand kilometres

A picture to end the post, clicked at Madhavpur in Gujarat.
