congrats Hafi for the beast. I know how it feels likes when you go through this phase. I myself couldnt sleep for 3 nights
take it easy initially and get used to the pace and dynamism of the car before you start ripping it. And yes get a better set of tyres. Also get the brake pads check.

Oh and i shall also remind you that 60K service is a crucial and major service for skoda so start saving...

Nice pics Hafi. Just get thorough cleanup of the interiors and exterior as well. When was it last serviced?
Get rid of those stickers as well as soon as possible.

Went to the authorised service center(Marikar,Cochin).Spoke with the service advisor there.Initially he told 60000 service is a huge one and could empty you pockets.He quoted me below a sum 30000 bucks.

And what happened was that he told me all this without knowing it was a petrol.When i told that it was a petrol he said never mind and no need to get tensed because the major service(ie the timing belt kit changing) is at 80000.Infact the lauras and skoda petrol have this major service at 80000 only.Only the 1.9 TDI model skoda has its timing belt change at 60000.Is it true?I need inputs guys.It was told by the main service advisor in skoda.I mean it got to be right right?Hope so.

honestly i'm not sure about this petrol and diesel difference thingy but 60K is definately a major service for octavia. Even i wish that its indeed 80K for vRS as i also have covered around 42K. Maybe abhinav can shed some light on this.

Wow, thats an impeccably maintained vRS. Btw, a query, does this monster lose some of its shine ( read, power) as it ages. Especially after 50K kms?

Also, can someone throw light into approximate service costs for a vRS and FE figures when ripped and driven sedately?

@Hafi: Nice pictures dude.

@mobike008: The stock vRS gives me anywhere between 9-10 in City driving conditions of Hyderabad. It has given me 12.5 on highway driving at an average speed of over 100 KMPH. I believe a completely ripped vRS would drop FE by about 1.5 to 2 KMs in city driving condition. Also, most of the vRS owners love reving it up.

Guess Abhinav can answer this Qn. He's reported varied FE figures across different conditions

HAFI,
The vRS looks neat! Take care of the beast and happy revving

the 1.8 turbo petrol engine doesnt tire out very easily , stays fresh even after 1.5 lac kms, the FE is the scary part , when driven flat out , you can expect a mileage of
5-6 kmpl , otherwise if driven consservatively , in city you can get up to 10kmpl and on the highway of abt 11-12 kmpl max and not more ,

well once i was travelling with my dad and he's a big anti speed species i've ever known. And to make the matter worse we were driving on expressway and covered near about 70 kms. Whenever i used to go above 90 he used to scold me so i mostly kept the speed around 80ish and finally turned on the cruise control at 80 kmph for the majority of the driving. The result was that i got a FE in excess of 15.
When i really rip the car i get FE of around 4-5. Under normal driving(mix of aggressive+sedate) i usually get FE of 9.
