Are you sure it is a Diesel ?

There were talks going on for the 1.6 Petrol some days ago. But i doubt that the Petrol 1.6 will serve any purpose, as the current 1.4 is giving good mileage and decent performance which is evident on the ownership thread of "geeash".

They should bring the 1.6 MJD & 1.4 TJet.

Ya ya I am damn sure.
It's only 1.6 MJD
with 120bhp and 320Nm torque and 100kmph in 9.8 secs.
(Source Autocarindia forum)
These figures might not be accurate.

In another thread of FIAT factory visit, that person has also mentioned about 1.6 MJD and 1.4 TJet engines coming up. The only question is "When".

I am hearing that its getting launched within this year... Is it true? Even FIAT is confirming it when we call the toll free number.

Man.. its time for an upgrade.. esp. to the 1.4 TJET.. 0-100 in less than 9 secs (exactly 8.8 secs) i guess!!

Regards,
Sathya

If it is true then Woww..!! Nice to hear that even Fiat is confirming about the launch.I would be very happy if they launch it in a couple of months...I am so sure that if Fiat bring the 1.6 MJD and 1.4 T-Jet then Fiat would be able to capture the market and will surely help them to boost their sales..! I'll be dreaming and waiting for that day. Let's wait for that day

Not bulge on bonnet but I've a kinda "small dent" on bonnet - driver side where there is an edge on the bonnet - right on the edge. Very small hence not bothered, visible only thro' reflection. However, I wonder how it could have been caused? A flying pebble or something fallen of tree ?

It'll be a mistake if Fiat launches 1.6 MJD or any higher power engine in 2009 itself. Recipe for disaster. Mid-2010 should be the ideal time

Yes, Karthik. Its visible. How are these happening?

Logical guess tells me that something where bonnet is closing at boneet lid - from that point something is pushing the bonnet towards the inside i.e. towards windshield. What could that be? Can it be solved by a bit loosening of those 3 bumper screws (inside the bonnet - from where bumper positioning can be realigned)? Just ask TASS about it. In my car sometime back I found Bumper positioning slightly misaligned. There was a difference when I compared left & right side - only 2-3 mm. I got it realigned thro' those 3 screws in 1st service. Now again its a bit misaligned.

Yes mine is also misaligned.
I already informed CSM and Works Manager.
They escalated to FIAT and they simply asked them to paint the entire bonnet after fixing the dents.
They also did the same.
But after 2 months it's bulged again in the same place exactly.Check the earlier bulges i posted POST:#450.
Now they are planning to replace the bonnet.
Tomorrow I am going to VST service station and check with them

The bonnet looks like the victim and they are changing that! What about the culprit?

Karthik, congrats on the car, it sure is a stunner. Don't lose sleep over the 1.6 linea, Just get your current car peted, add a green filter, and it will be more than adequate. Enjoy this for some time, and by that time, maybe the 1.9 diesel will be out!

regarding the bonnet bulge, i feel instead of repeatedly getting it fixed,Its good that you are getting it replaced. No amount of tinkering will give you the factory fresh look. All the best!

Default Damper Replaced

Hi All,

After getting screeching noise from Front Right side Wheel Shocks,Checked and finally VST Motors decided to change the dampers.
There's no stock that day and intend and it reached last tuesday itself.
I have gone to VST last saturday and they fixed up with new dampers and done Wheel Alignment too.
I have been waiting for more than 6 hrs as the car have gone for Lal tyres for Wheel Alignment.
So Works Manager arranged for a car and dropped me in my home.
After 6 Pm that day my car had returned.
Today morning i took my car for work.
I realised the car was tilting towards left.Steering Wheel alignment is the culprit.
Everytime this issue happened after Wheel Alignment.Faced in the first service too.
I sent a mail to express my dissatisfaction towards their work.
Awaiting reply :(
