Seriously nothing. But Engine Noise is increasing little bit still under acceptable level only.
But no idea about long term issue as I have been using it for last some months only.

Default Timing Chain Replacement

Hi,

Heard from VST Service that some of the Linea/Punto (Chassis No) should be checked for Timing Chain.
My car is in the List and i might be going over there by Next Month.
Checking it is very time consuming (2 days) and need to remove some vital parts of Engine, So i am little bit skeptical in doing this.
But i got a call from VST Works Manager itself to reassure about the service the Timing Chain.
FIAT is very much concerned to check the faulty Timing chain and replace it atonce.
Symptom: If there any different noise coming out from Engine.
Please check with your Service Centre.

Mine is March 2009. Please check it with your service station. The list has been distributed among all service station. You can check your car with Chassis No.

kartik, had a talk with sa of concorde motors, cochin. He is unaware of this issue (or pretending). Mine too is a march 2009 model mjd emotion pk. He says if the timing chain is loose, we will replace it. Otherwise no need of it.
Is there any other means, so that i can find my car is included.

Mine is from April 09 batch, would like to know if we can check the cars listed for the fix through online by giving chassis number or any other detail.

Any lights ?

Default Timing Chain Replacement

After changing the Timing Chain, i had done a Trip to my native and no surprises. As usual Linea was poised and got a very good FE.
But heard some belt noise kind of sound comes from the Engine bay which is not heard before. I am not sure though.
But VST guys told me, it's normal.Need to check in some other cars.

Again i got a bill for Rs.773 for sealent/Glue used for this change and rest under Extended warranty and VST guys claimed that it's not under warranty and FIAT is not accepted to reimburse this amount and this amount should be borne by the customer.
I raised my voice and they will accept my concern and come back after speaking with FIAT.
Any how i won't pay this amount.

@aks_Karthik

I checked with Concord again and they confirmed they don't have any such note from Fiat to replace the timing chain for Linea. I tried to reach Kirubhakaran@ VST. His mobile is switched off. You have any other contact?

Cheers
Dinesh
