It will be noticed only while driving through adulterant roads.such as country side roads having gravels with muds.

NOTE:

Anyone has installed Mud flaps and Boot mat.
Whether it's available in Chennai.
Please let me know so that i'll add it up during first service.

Mudflap is available in Concorde. They have black and grey floor mats but no boot mat. Some one posted pics of a beige floor mat, apparently, they dont have beige mats or boot mat as an official accessory (!). They also had black and beige full PU and part leather seat covers.

Check fitment of mudflaps on their test drive car before buying.

Gears,

Have given the car for First Service.
Already crossed 3400 kms.
A small scratch in Front Left door and Front Bumper underbody scracthes need to be repainted.
They charged Rs.1800 for painting work.
There is a small bump in the Bonnet.it's not visible without close observation so I had not noticed at the time of PDI/Delivery.
I asked them to fix that too.
will be getting the car tomorrow evening.
They implied to go for Anti Rust coat for Rs.4800.I just refused.
whether it's useful.

I think since its a rubber coating, it will help in noise-deadening (Linea has lot of road noise into cabin .. maybe the tyres).

Ironically, when I asked my service center guy about underbody protection, he showed that the car's underbody already has a protective coating. so he said no need!

Karthik i would advice you to go for underchassis painting before july as the rain will start in chennai from july. Linea does not have a under chassis painted by the dealer as in skoda Laura. VST and Concord both does the underchassis painting from 3M. It will work out much cheaper if you do it your self from balaji agencies, alwarpet who is the authorised dealer for 3M in chennai. I have enquired and it costs lesser there and there is a man called Mr.Dennis whom i know, who can give you some discount too ( i did my sun control for my linea there only). Actually there are two types of underchassis protection available at 3M . one is essential underchassis painting which comes with 2 year warranty and another is exclusive underchassis protection (which is also called highway soundproofing) which comes with 5 years warranty. the exclusive underchassis painting there itself costs only 4700 there. If you want to know more details please feel free to call me.

Hi Aswin,.

whether they do coat in Door interiors too.
In VST they do coat underbody and door interiors.

if it's like a rubber one.it will peel off when it scraps potholes or speed breakers na.

possible,we will go to 3M shop one day and plan accordingly

You seem to have talked to a honest guy in that service center. would be a good idea to stick with this guy.

I really feel that the car manufacturer would be more interested in protecting your car underbody and so would not have left it unprotected.

Moreover, the underbody is hit by stones and gravel each time you take the road. Any underbody protection that you additionally do would also suffer all those and I wonder how they offer guarnatees!

The 5 year warranty that Prerana Motors provides in Bangalore is more like a 5 year cover. What they claim is whenever you go in for service or repairs, if they find the coating has been damaged, they will redo that area to make sure the underbody is not exposed to the elements.
