Congrats Prof - on a brilliant buy! Just read through all the posts and must say Im mighty impressed with all the gadgetry included. Definitely has to be the best VFM car in the country today - considering some of the S class, 7series features offered at the price.

Will have to drive one to believe that it kicks the Accord's butt in flat out acceleration (my experience is making me a little biased), but definitely seems to be the obvious choice between the 2 considering the new Accord is more expensive and less loaded.

Wish you an uninterrupted and trouble free run in your new acquisition.

The car looks amazing. I have seen a few demo cars running around near the beach here in the early hours of the day, and boy did they look good!

An excellent purchase, hope you enjoy your ride and have a good experience with the A.S.S. as well.

How do you keep footwell lights on while driving ? It seems to operate only when doors are open or ignition is off.

Default Booking a 1.8 TSI AutoBahn Prabhadevi

Hey Prof,

Congratulations for the beauty! I believe you are the perfect person to help me out, so need a little advice. I have a confusion on whether to go for the Superb 1.8 TSi or the Laura L&K 2.0 TDi. I have booked a Laura Elegance 1.9 TDi but haven't got it registered yet (in triple minds now). I have seen the L&K and the 7* and love them both (a little more affection towards the 7*)! My monthly run would be 2250 km on highway and about 750 km in the city. a total of 3000 km a month!

I have a E280 Elegance CDi beast for my sport ventures so adventurous driving would not be a critical factor. The new car will be mostly chaffeur driven.

My final worry boils down to FE! With the kms rolling down every month and petrol being pretty expensive per litre, I will be shelling out heavily on running costs.

Since i dont want to spend over 21L, i am not considering Superb 2.0L as an option. With the superb, i get the face value (much more than a Laura) as an advantage over the 19.something Lakh Laura! But again with the Laura i save on running costs!

So can u please give me a detailed figure for the FE of the 1.8 TSi Superb?
A split for the city and the highway figures will be highly appreciated.

Pros of 7* over Laura L&K - face value, gadgetry, more VFM, luxury
Cons - size, running costs (FE), a 3 month waiting period against immediate delivery for the Laura!!!!

I am looking at buying either car immediately!

Thanks,
Akshay

since your going to be chauffeur driven i suggest the superb unless you sit in the front seat since the laura back seat sucks.

Good to read some pleasant experiences (especially on the features front) from a Skoda owner! But some things never change, and the A** seems to be not upto the mark even after so much of uproar against it. But there surely is an improvement. And yes, the Prof must be enjoying the TSI to the fullest.
