Aneesh, I have exactly the same accessories on my car, so have given you the prices I paid for each. Of course, I didnt get anything free, just a flat 27K cash discount on my car. Do your math.

Err, crimson-beige G sport seats? Just who's car where you looking at for inspiration?

I believe (like a lot of other Verna owners) he's finding the stock headlamps inadequate.

hi predatorwheelz

yup I'm a frequent visitor to teambhp and get inspired by my 'predators' here..

And what the dealer offered me is just
1. Rs:10000/- cash discount
2. Basic accessories like mats n flaps
3. tefflon and underbody coating

that's all !!!!

I said that i need atleast the tyres and headlights changed. What is your advice?
The dealer is Hilton Hyundai, TVM.
Also is there any festival/season offer (Onam is near) available from hyundai?

awaiting your helping reply.

Aneesh, great to know my car has been a source of inspiration.

Its a tough call for me to give a clear-cut answer. Discounts tend to vary from city-to-city, as well as by time of the year. You're buying the car at a different time of the year, from a location which is totally unknown to me.

Anyway, I'll try to put in some suggestions. Firstly, as for the total benefits (cash discount + freebies), the total value of what you're getting wont be more than 18K by any means. Just yesterday a Hyundai dealer in Kolkata has advertised total benefits of 31K on Verna SX purchase in August! I suggest you go to some other dealers and try to wrench out a better benefits package. Also, bargain for as much cash benefit as possible and avoid freebies. You'll get many more options (and better fitment) from specialist accessories shops.

As for the headlights, they definitely need changing. My personal opinion is that they're too underpowered, and can prove dangerous if you drive highways at night.

The tyres (check that you're getting 185/65 R14s) are quite adequate. I'm quite a spirited driver and tend to drive the car by the scruff of the neck. So far, I've never felt shortchanged in terms of grip from the stock tyres.

Default Some thoughts to continue this

Hi Aneesh,

When I was scouting for a good deal, I had gone to Sanjay hyundai and a few more, I found Sanjay hyundai to be more acceptable to flexible financing and other such negotiation options. He was ready to provide discounts on many accesories. I would suggest check him out with a bit more negotiation bit.
Although I didnt go for a hyundai then, as I later dropped the idea of taking a loan for car purchase at that moment.

Hey Preds, saw your predator pics, it looks awesome, I am sure you'll definitely take a great care of this beast, like you'r particular about your 180cc beast then.

Cheers

@predator - would like to add here that while I think that the 185 on the top end verna is good enough to make you feel relatively comfortable, I still dont think it is "adequate". I have driven Shyam's getz with the 195/65/r14s and I think the handling is marvellous when compared to my verna. You can do stuff in that car that you cant dare do in the verna with 185s. Not to forget that a bigger wheelbase might help with giving the steering a heavier feel at higher speeds. I have done close to 10k now, and I am contemplating a change of tires, even if it means I dont get much back for the tires that I have used.
The bottom line - for the power of the verna, no wheel base is too less!

Default Thank you guys

hi guys,

Thank you very much for your timely reply, so that I could take a bold move with the dealer!!

I stood solid on my decision and needs, and they agreed to do more at last!!..
But by the time, i had a slap from behind!! my dad went to the showroom yday, and did the payment fully, as the executives said that it will take more time if you delay your payment... how sad ... now am lost with my voice to ask more...
anyway I tried my luck with strong stands, and they agreed to add 5k more cash discount plus reverse sensor.

hope that is okay for the time being...

and by the way, let me tell you that I;m from Kerala and here I got only few dealers with hyundai (MGF-cochin, Hilton-trivandrum, Popular-trivandrum) in my region.

thank you all.. soon there will be my thread for the first impression

Talking Atlast I got my Car

Happy Independence day !!!

Hi All..
Happy to announce my new Verna (Silver color, SX CRDi ABS)..
The dealer is Hilton Hyundai, and I took it from their showroom near to my home. They were really good at customer dealing and service and I personally thank all of them, especially the showroom manager Saji Ooman and the Executive Shyju who already had a mouthful from me . I was much tensed when they postponed the first delivery date and then again doubtful on the second date. So had to take some hard words out of my dictionary.. he he..

Neways, the car is fresh out of factory (only did 12kms on odo when I saw the car at showroom). There were no offers from the dealers except Rs:10000/- cash discount and the basic accessories. Fortunately the stock tyres were, as i wished, were Bridgestone 185/65 R14. They didn't changed the headlight bulbs as I requested earlier due to time constraints, and assured to do so on the first service.

Now looking for a mapmyindia GPS to be onboard... everything I can do is on the first service date only coz its my marriage on 24th Aug. Above from that I can leave my office only on 22nd. :( Hope my dear car will forgive my absence..

More details I will write as I get a chance to wrrrrooooooom on her with a free mind.. Hope I can do it as soon as possible.

By the way, all are welcome to my marriage ceremony at Alleppy, Kerala on 24th August...

Thanks a lot for your valuable advices and experience notes here on TBHP. I hope this will keep us more than bhpians, as frnz.

Thnx a lot again..

I find the same problem with headlights. Hyundai A.S.S. suggested keeping the stock lights as warranty may void and reflector may get damaged.

any suggestions please ?

Smile periodic check for Verna CRDi

Hi there..
now thanx for all wishes..
I got few questions regarding taking care of Verna CRDi.

After getting the car from the showroom:
1. When should I take the car for wheel alignment check and balancing?
2. When should I change the engine oil? What type it should be, synthetic/mineral? Please advise a brand.
3. Where can I buy some accessories like mobile/laptop charger, neck cushions, USB adapters etc in Cochin/Trivandrum?

For the time being this much

Congrats Aneesh. Thats a wise and sensible choice. When do we see a dedicated ownership thread from your side?

Good choice of tyres. I have the same tyres on my car, and they've been giving me sterling service over the last one year.

Keep me posted on this one. I'm looking for something similar in my car.

Congratulations on your wedding. I too, got married within a short time of buying the car (27th Sep I bought the car, 24th Nov I got married).

I'm not an electronics expert, but a lot of R&D has led me to believe that there are 2 replacement options. The cheaper option is to go for replacement 100/90 bulbs which are much stronger than the stock bulbs. Wont affect your warranty too.

The other (more exotic) option is to go for Xenon lamps with a projector beam setup. This one seems to be much more expensive. I'm currently looking for this option.

Smile soon will be..

hi predator

thnx for your update and wishes.
still i didn't get a chance to get the car on a drive. did only test drive at the showroom, and during the delivery time, i was in office :(
have to check everything after the business of marriage and all.
will post the ownership thread after that some pics, i hope..

for mapmyindia devices, now they are offering a discount on mapmyindia Lite. (19000 to 12000). I think it is the best time to order one.
need a change in the headlight bulbs for sure, but only after getting an impression of the stock ones. that is the right step, isn't it?

cheers
