Default Initial drive report

Today i have completed Mangalore - Bangalore stretch via Shiradi ghat. It was raining from the moment i switched on the engine around 4.30 AM, stopped near Haasan. Car was well behaved in the rain and in the ghat section as well. Here are my first 450KMs report

What i like?

1) Funky looks and well designed tail lamps

2) Torque engine compared to Fiesta TDCi

3) Very light EPS, absolutely easy to handle in traffic or in highways.

4) Fuel efficient ? ( I think so because i filled it in Shell and started the car, after 450Kms in ODO, digital fuel gauge just reduced two points out of ten)

5) Large, single console with good numbers of warning lights.

6) Centralized gear

7) Plenty of storage for small items.

8) Waterfall theme design for center console.

9) Ground clearance

What i don't like?

1) Small bottle holders, need to squeeze Bislery bottle

2) Tyre road noise.

3) Should have a height adjustable seat.

4) Digital fuel gauge can't be fail safe?

5) Huge blind spot in the A-pillar.

Overall, it is good. I am happy as well. More pictures after i wash the car since the color has changed to red due to rain.

Hope had a nice run-in driving expirence.
Did you upgrade with XM1+ tires? This would reduce the noise.
Did MGA had any accessories for Ritz(Skirts Spoiler etc.)

Not yet, i should be doing it in Bangalore today or tomorrow if time permits. I will keep this thread updated with the information.

Acceleration is good, i never crossed 2000 rpm and it was cruising in 85-90KMPH in plain roads. Cornering was OK kind since it has huge A-pillar and it affects visibility in corners. Braking was good in rainy roads, no issues at all.
Overall handling was very good in fact, 1000 times better than Indica V2.

As a owner of Ritz ZXi I can say that even at 5'7" I have put seat height adjustment at lowest. I have not gone above 100 km/hr (engine run-in), below that for ZXi (Alloy wheels) there is minimal tire noise. Even I felt the A Pillar blind spot.

Agreed. The steering weighs up pretty well on the highways too.

You like all those warning lights? Not to my taste.

6) Centralized gear
+ Nice gearshift.

2) Tyre road noise.
It's those lousy JK tyres. Please upgrade to better rubber. Under hard cornering, on my test, the tyres were giving up way before the chassis.

6) Apparent engine noise inside cabin.
If you think the Ritz is loud, try sitting in a Punto sometime

Drive safe!

Certainly. It is very smooth but not accurate though when compared to Fiesta. What do you think?

Yep,precisely the reason why i have booked a punto,i absolutely loved the growl of the engine in-cabin while test driving the car,and it totally put off my friend. He thought it was noisy, well,i thought it was just lovely to hear!

That will be the difference between Punto car owners and Ritz car owners, Punto for the enthusiasts and Ritz for the normal guys. Even though I own a Ritz, Punto is too good a car for to be limited to enthusiasts.

Haven't checked the FE yet, still running with three points in the fuel gauge. I hope it should be around 19-20 with 90% AC inside city and on highways. I never crossed 2K rpm though.
