Getz vs Elantra

Performance - Initial stock getz acceleration is too good compared to a stock elantra but after 160kmph elantra wins. I have to do a test between peted getz and peted elantra.

Handling & Braking - Elantra wins here though its not that bad in getz. The peace of mind you get in elantra at high speeds is something else.

City & Highway driving - Getz is fun to drive in city & highways but elantra i would prefer only for highways.

Whatever the small differences in between i love both the cars .

+1 here.. Thats why i prefer Getz CRDi for city travel and Elantra CRDi for highways.

I will hopefully finish running-in by that time.

If anyone is planning to change the getz crdi rotors give me the old one so that it will help me in checking for the new cross drilled rotors

To try it out i need getz crdi rotors so that i can send it across to dealers to check for the correct dimensions.

Any idea if Verna or i20 rotors matches getz crdi rotors?

By the way there is one more getz crdi (mid night grey) available for immediate delivery. any one interested?

Brake pads of Verna and Getz are same. So, i assume the rotors should be same as well.

Do you think if we ask the mechanics at the shed if they have any used up or damaged rotors?

See if there is a place equivalent to Madras' Pudupet- where they junk old/ damaged cars- in Bangalore...

Hi All,


My car , Dark Grey was delivered today at Trident, Sankey Road.

I have fixed the Yokos S-drives 195/55/15 along my existing 15" Lensos immediately after taking delivery.
Ride has become slightly sluggish, but compared to my earlier SWIFT petrol, the power is awesome. Too Good.

Just waiting for the break in period to get over to flex my right leg..
Things added:
1.Teflon coating from 3M
2.Sun film from 3M RE 35.
3.Yokos S drives with 15" Lensos NX series.
4.Central locking.

The ICE have to be installed, but could not get it done due to time schedules. I have to buy an decent Head Unit. Already posses the dual channel AMP, Components from JBL, Rear speakers etc.

Thinking to add another single channel AMP with a sub woofer.

Manual suggests to keep the RPM between 2-4 k RPM, is it true or we need to keep below 2k ?

Your suggestions .

Definitely should be. But what condition, how much of it is usable remains to be unknown. Most of the cars are scrapped after they get totaled.

Congrats buddy!!!

Try to keep the RPM between 1750 to 2000/ 2250 while running in, until 1st service... push it gradually to 2500 ~ 3000 after that - GRADUALLY, until 5k on the clock. That's what I did. Most important: Dont lug the engine- keep the RPM at any gear above 1700 at least till the first service!

Keep the revs above 1500 and below 3000 rpm and keep varying the speeds between these rpms. Please do not try to achieve good milage figures atleast upto 5000kms. Do not let the car rev below 1500 rpms. And i would strongly recommend 3M under chassis coat. Recommend only shell diesal or a reliable indian oil fuel bunk. And when do we get to see the car

Please do not try such things.
Brake is a very critical part and experimenting with such a crazy car can turn out to be suicidal.

KP, before jumping to conclusions, we are trying to source some used rotors so that it can be sent to Peter or to a reputed rotor manufac in the UK to make new billets. But for that we need a used piece for the dimensions.
