Lucky me ? Please dont rub it in Doc !

They gave me an Indica Vista with DEMO CAR sticker pasted all around. The security guy in my office complex refused to let me in. I had to show my Visiting card, ID card and some negotiations to get inside.

I am happy that they gave me ateast that.

I see rusting again under the rubber beadings on the rear doors.

The metal strip under the beading is rusting upon contact with water. I have spoken to TASS and FIAT that i cant take this nonsense anymore and they should find a permanent solution to this.

Almost all cars parked in the service centre had this rusting under the rubber beading. I am not sure how many owners remove the beading to see if there are rusts.

Lineans - pls check your cars too.

Hi bnzjon, I had given my Linea to Concorde in February and they repainted the region around the boot neatly. But now the boot is misaligned with rest of the car. At some angles it really feels awkward. They also painted the region above the shock absorbers. But now the shock absorber bolts have started rusting again. Also they didn't do anything to the rust on rear doors due to the rusted rubber beadings. I mean they even didn't replace the rubber beadings. They told that they will do something if it aggregates. Mangesh has not contacted me afterwards. And these days I spotted some orange colour on the ends of rear doors. After seeing drdeepudev's thread I think that's also rust. I don't have enough time to take it again to Concorde which is more than 50 kms away from my home. Still there are many problems to be resolved. I will try to take some snaps.

Bnz,

have you asked them to use Syn. oil instead of Selenia?

@Vignesh,
Good Catch. (patha vachuteyae parata - thinking you know tamil)
bnz will definitely kill those guys for sure
That's why i simply standing next to my car while changing the oils .
I always insist them to change Engine in my presence only.
I am little bit skeptical on those guys

Castrol !!!!! Christ, what are these guys upto ?
I specifically told them that i need only Selenia and nothing else.

These guys have still not learnt which oil to put in which car!
Its almost an year that they messed up with Geeash car's engine oil and they still they repeat the same mistake.

Vignesh, dont worry, i wont refer your name. Thanks Buddy for the info.

Karthik, you are right ! those guys at TASS and FIAT got all abuses from me just now.

They say, FIAT (now) recommends Selenia and Mobil 1 synthetic oil for Linea/Punto. Dont know if i can beleive them but properties for both oils are same and they are synthetic.

Mobil1 is Rs. 200 more per litre than Selenia !!!

Can you check with VST if this information is correct.

Regarding the Castrol, the SA claims that they do not have any cans of castrol with them. I know this is a blatant lie.

Vignesh - how much castrol did they pour ?

bnz,

sorry to hear about your rusting problem. But why is it developing again and again in some Fiat cars only?
Is there a design flaw or some QC problem?

An what do Fiat guys have to say about it?

can you share some snaps of it here please?

The rusting is only on the portions where the rubber beadings are in contact. The rubber beadings have metal strips inside the beading for grip which is getting rusted.

FIAT officials (Mangesh and Anand Kumar) told me that the rubber beadings have been remodified some couple of months back. The new rubber beadings have no issues, it seems.

The rust in my car is not on the body but the metal strip of the rubber beading. This rust has stuck to the body of the car.

Have informed TASS to wipe clean the body, paint if there are rusts after treating for rust and then fix the "so called" new rubber beading.

Anyways, i will ak the SA to show me the Selenia bottle to confirm this.
