My Cousin has an i10 magna & he has driven it on all possible highways & city roads & never felt the need to upgrade the tire (one may always want to upgrade even if one doesnt need to). The only gripe he has with the Bridgestones is that they are very noisy at moderately high speeds on Concrete roads.

Thanks GTO, Techno. With your vote of confidence, I would rest all speculation of tyre upgrade. I will stick to the stock tyres for now and would revisit the upgrade thoughts for later, if needed by me or by the car.

Default update & couple of questions

Quick update: Car is getting registered as I write this post and taking the delivery today late afternoon/evening! I have the t-bhp PDI checklist ready in my hand for final inspection! Feeling very excited, though this would be primarily my wife's car!

Meanwhile, I have already visited the stockyard last Saturday and inspected the car. It's in fine state (as of now!), tyres are July make and I have clicked some snaps. Attaching them.

Few questions at this point:
- What is the correct rpm/speed (*upper limit*) during the run-in period for i10 Auto?
- Till how many kms is the run-in?

Perfect! Another 1 year, the Honda starts getting all the right mods and the AT can continue with the mundane day-to-day commuting.

Thanks balajird! Actually the beige and red mix in the interiors prompted me to go for this.
Will surely keep this thread updated with the delivery exp and initial ownership report!

Default Baby is home, Yipee!!

Finally, the baby is home (whew)! Yesterday evening, inspite of the rains in our side of town and my initial skepticism that the car would become dirty if taken out in the rain, I went ahead to take the delivery and completed the final inspection as per the PDI checklist. (As usual, the sales rep asked, "Sir, where did you get such a comprehensive checklist?"). The car was registered, but numbers had not yet come, so they put a "regd" sticker.

Around 6:45pm, drove out of the showroom and headed straight to the petrol bunk. She was quite thirsty, drank 30.6 litres of normal food without a burp! Next stop was the Ganesha Temple, Sahakarnagar, 7:15pm. The pujari did quite an elaborate puja, almost for 15 mins which made the car owner (my wife) quite happy and pious! I was justing getting impatient to get behind the wheels though!

At around 7:45pm, we left everything behind and decided for a small relaxed drive to get the feel of my "laal pari" accompanied by wife and son! So easy to drive, forget the gear shifts, awesome guitar of Joe Satriani (stock speakers suck, but thats for later. Let me now bask in the glory!), super responsive power steering, rev happy kappa engine and to top it all, people flirting with my new babe! Wonderful experience! By the time I parked in my garage at 8:30pm, I had rediscovered love! This time, love for city driving!

I am not yet crunching the numbers, would start the run-in process saturday (29-Aug) onwards and laal pari would be in garage for 2 days! Would be using my beast instead for office commutes.

Pictures and more feedback in the following days/weeks. Requested mods to change the thread title also.

Congratulations, have fun with your new ride and drive safe! Remember to go easy on the accelerator else you will see the fuel guage fall really fast. For me, the i10 Automatic is the cheapest, best and most practical city car available in India at the moment. Do post some more pics later with your driving experience.

Cheers!

Thanks anilkalvani. Yes, at this point of time, not even thinking of going beyond 60-80kmph mark, the runing-in period!

Can't agree with you more on this! Some pics (when inspected at the stockyard) is already posted, more will follow with the miles!

Congratulations Nandi.

I agree about i10 AT being the best for city driving. Infact, there is no other AT worth its money in this segment at all!

Thanks amitoj. Believe it or not, today while coming to office in my vtec, I felt, if only I had taken the AT in the vtec instead of MT, life would have been so much simpler! It's once in a while when we go on long drives and need for quick speed variation arises, rest of the time it's the city drives only!
