Smile i20 CRDi Asta's odo announced 1000 KM - a short report

Ok, finally here it goes, short and comprehensive hopefully -

Initial Buy:
Requirement - Needed bigger car but no boot, after using santro for 6 years never found boot necessary in city
TD - TDed Punto and i20 petrol. i20, It was love at first sight. Me and my wife decided i20 was our car but I was not happy with pickup of the engine. TeamBHP told me CRDi was coming and on the day of test drive it surpassed my expectations. Booked silver CRDI on 10th July. Was told 1 month waiting time. Dealer offered a grey vehicle as it was available after 15 days. I could not wait anymore. Waited for RTO to clear CRDi and I think mine is the first i20 CRDi registered in Bangalore!! (Not entirely sure)

My grey i20 diesel beauty came home on July 27th.

Modifications:
I loved this vehicle so much that I overshot my modification budget

- Exchanged stock alloys for 14' Lensos (17K but got nearly 8K for stock alloys)
- GSport Seat covers (7K)
- VKool 70 for Front screen (12K), 3M CS20 for others (3.5 K)
- 3M under body coating (3K)
- Hella dual tone horns (1K)
- Hyundai Original mats and body cover (1+1K)

Boy, It has become a headturner on the road!

First 1000KMs:
Has been great till now! Felt like rocket after 1.8 RPM, but that became more linear after 700 KMs. Slotting to 1st gear when vehicle had slowed down was bit of an effort but it has gone away now. I Travel daily to work approx 15 Kms from J.P.Nagar to Marathalli. Regular bumper to bumber traffic and at times jams. Maintained the revving with in 2.5 K mostly. Observed milage is around 13KMPL.

Got the first service done. Had never used Trident service earlier. They are just fantastic. Never thought Hyundai *** was so great.

Now that I have completed 1000K, I could go past 3k on RPM and really loved overtaking vehicles today on my way to hebbal! It is now driving like butter and hope this will be like this for long...

Issues:
I observed some liquid spill from engine compartment after being parked for some time. Hyundai guys say it is water from condensor. Hope it is true as no other fluids seem to have reduced. Advaith guys refused to fit my Hella horns saying it might lead to electrical problems, but a mail from Hyundai settled it. Slotting to first gear during run was there for some time but it is gone now.

OVerall my i20 CRDi experience has been just great

Congrats on getting the i20 CRDi. The initial report was good especially on the accessories and pricing. It would be great if you post some pictures of your beautiful car.

Nice pictures.

I have a doubt. Does the music player supplied along with i20 have a USB port?

I beg to differ. I dont know about Trident, but Advaith A.S.S is awesome! Never had a problem with them in close to 7 years( 2 santros and one getz).

Recently, we had given our Getz for service and I asked them to do the interior cleaning. They charged about 1.3k or something for interior + exterior and they've done a FANTASTIC job! Our Getz has beige seats and they had become really dirty. But the guys at Advaith have done a fantastic job of making the seats look like new.

PS: Dash, congrats on the car! It looks simply awesome! Enjoy your drives!

OT.

@Nikhilb2008: May be the Rajajinagar Advaith i go to is crap. Unlike Advaith, i was treated like a king and the guys at trident were more professional.
Hospitality and they way they treat me is my main priority. Plus i got a pretty nice job done at trident, Not a major work though.

dash, congrats on the grey i20 crdi. I think it's the best looking and performing hyundai car at present. The alloys are smoking!
Where/which shop did you buy these lenso alloys from? any code number for them? Also how are the apollo acelere tyres, are the stock ones good enough for highway speeds?

Need not worry as condensate water is a normal for all air-conditioned vehicles. This phenomena is quite prominent during monsoons or high humidity condition.
By the way how much was the OTR price for your i20 ?
