Default Mercedes C220 CDI - Initial Report

Mercedes C220 CDI

BHP : 141 bhp @ 3800 rpm
Torque : A thumping 340 nm
Transmission : 6 Speed Manual
Tyres : 225/50/16 Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3's
Recent Additions : Clear glass headlamps, Sunroof, 7 spoke 16 inch Alloy wheels, Beige leather interiors, rain sensing wipers, automatic rear blind, 7 disc MB Changer.

It is an overwhelming experience to drive the C220, especially after living with a C180 for three years. The cars are so similar, yet entirely different in character. I am currently running in the C220 (uptil 1,500 kms) and restricted to 2500 rpm, but the torque and mid-range are absolutely mindboggling - You are literally pushed back into the back of your seat at the slightest touch of the throttle. The common rail powerplant is eager to leap forward across all rpms!! For those keen on the FE part, this brand new engine is delivering 10.xx in the city already.

I have opted for a Metallic black exterior with beige leather interiors. Only extras are the upgraded tyres, VKool sun film and black rubber mats.

My sincere gratitude to the AutoHangar India team (Mercedes authorised dealership at Prabhadevi) of Sujay Shankarwar (Asst. Manager) and Gautam Madnani (Sales Consultant and Team-BHPian CLS_55_AMG). The support shown by these two gentlemen was astounding, with me not having to lift a finger for any of the formalities - whether it was the tyre upgrade or registering the car remotely. In my 3.5 years of an experience with Auto Hangar, I have yet to hear a NO from any of the staff. Thanks guys.

This is the real thing. I start my Mercedes Benz experience all over again!

CONGRATS!!
I think u made a brillant selection over the E200K, the CDI is a much better option and now that its readily available makes it a E200K killer as earlier there was very limited stock coming in of this engine. Your car looks stunning much much fresher than the C180 and the VIP number selection just adds a little something always (apart from the 2nd thought the cops get while stopping u... u will know what i am taking about soon ). Autohangar are keeping the MBIL name high with its services given to the customers as compared to sanghi.
Enjoy the car and do keep us updated on it after u finish running it in and going into Accelera mode (check my signature for more details )
P.S - I am quite suprised that you went in for a mercedes once again after the spite for u had for MB in the earlier posts.....but what heck A MERC IS A MERC!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me too quite surprised by you going with the Merc again. Where did the Accord loose out?

Quote from "The Godfather" most appropriate (rather than miles and miles of thread justifying the change-of-heart ) and ALWAYS most welcome (my avatar says it all, eh )

Cheers
