Was going though this thread : http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...omparison.html (Dump the Electric compressor and adopt the foot pump? A comparison)

How long does the electric pump in the previous posts take to inflate a flat tyre ?

Sorry for going OT, but wanted to know the experience since I need to buy one for my punto.

it takes some time, but definitely less then the hand inflater. it can only repump till 18 psi.

The pump I ordered from ebay was not in working condition on delivery, so I returned it. I am waiting for a refund. After the bad experience I did not want a replacement. Think twice before buying it a China make.

I also bought the same pump (paid ~ Rs. 500 for the same) before I realised that it does not inflate a Safari's tyre (32/35 PSI). It also gets very hot and does'nt do anything else.

I then hunted around and got a better compressor (Rs. 2400) which has auto start and stops at pre-programmed pressure setting.

What are the tyre pressures for Linea?

Congrats Singh on getting yourself a great car. 16-18 km/l FE in a city like Delhi is great. We manage 15-15.5 km/l in Mohali/Chandigarh.
IMHO the DC compressor is a waste of money. My Mamu has it and it just sucks. Takes 15-20 min's just pupming in about half the pressure that the tyre requires. A foot pump is a 100 times better than this 'Chinese invention'!

Default Fiat Linea Reverse Gear Problem

greetings to all fellow members.

i own a fiat Linea emotion (diesel) which is now almost 8 months old and 14000 km on the Odo. since a month or two, i am facing some issues with the gear shifting. when i engage the reverse gear, it doesn't engage at once. one can hear a rattling sound from down below while engaging the reverse.

what possibly could be the reason behind this? could this be because of the clutch slave cylinder problem (due to which fiat had called back cars)?

This could be due to your clutch not fully disengaging.

Follow this :
Engage first gear for a very short moment and then shift into reverse, keeping clutch pressed.

Are you bringing your car to a complete halt and waiting for a couple of seconds before engaging reverse?

Singh, clutch bleeding will solve this issue. Go get it done, should be done for free by TASS!

This is exactly what I follow as sometimes I do face the exact same issue of reverse gear not getting engaged at once in my GP.

In my case I do get the car to complete halt before engaging reverse gear.

You can also try this :
Engage your clutch first and disengage the clutch (just press and release). Engage the clutch again and try to slot the reverse gear. This should do the trick.

even when i am taking out the car from the parking, i face the problem. i face this problem randomly. some times the gear is engaged very easily. but mostly i hear the jarring sound.

Yep, this works in most cars to avoid the grinding noise while slotting to reverse.

In my GP, rarely the reverse gear shows reluctance to engage, then I just put it in first gear and then into reverse, works fine.
