Congratulations on the 1.6 S. Good that you bought the S, I have driven an Aquarius Blue 1.6 S and I think it is the best handling sedan in the country under 10L. It would be my first choice too if I had to buy a petrol sedan. The FE you are getting is excellent for the Fiesta.

Congratulations for bringing black beauty!
When I decided to book the car I was very much clear that I will go for black as there is no other color to beat it but eventually ended up with Platinum as it requires more care than any other color.
S looks amazing in black

Post pics soon

Nice photographs indeed!
What missing in S is the rear head restraint and also the rear seat cannot be folded,
no rear cup holders?
Thanks

Hi Friends,

Have been too busy with work off late and hence have been a little slow in responding.

OTR: cost me around 7.37L incl insurance

Insurance: Did not take it from the dealer. Cost me around 13.5K - saved a bunch here.

Mods: nothing as of now. Need to get sun film soon.

Freebies: Dealer didn't give me any (other than the customary floor mats and mud flaps) saying that since the price was that of an A-list company he did not have any margin

Thats a big woow for choosing a right vehicle with right color.

My 2 cents: pls go in for High security no plates, that makes the beauty more elegant.
Immediately change the seat covers, fox red/brown color suits the best. That's a promise.

You seems to be squeezing the mileage from fida. The best figures that you've clocked before the run-in period.Guess what it returns after churning more miles.

Lambo: is one heck of a mean machine.that's an awesome pics.

Insurance premium - 13.5k???
Did you check the insured value they have put in for this car.
For your guidence, my car 1.6zxi the showroom price is 6.48L.
The insured value taken by Bajaj Allianz (whom the car is insured) is
Rs. 6,16,284 for which the total premium is Rs.17,666 (ofcourse this was paid by the dealer - offer from them)

The break-up of the premium as under:

Own damage claim : Rs. 13,391
Basic third party liability : Rs. 2500
PA-cover for owner-Driver of Rs.2L : Rs.100
LL to person for paid driver/operation/maintenance : Rs.25
Total Premium : Rs.16016
Service tax : Rs. 1602
Educ cess : Rs. 48 = Total Rs.17,666

You may check with your insurance company, at what insured value your car is covered (IMO,since your car is different variant and showroom price is higher, definitely the premium should also have been higher if proper coverage has given).
Better to check and make sure if all under control.
Thanks

a black S!! Woooah! Beautiful man! I was going to buy the Black one until I found a ready Diamond white one in stock. I don't regret the decision at all, but Black and Aquarius are awesome colours on the Fiesta S!

guess there need not be any words more to be said about a black fiesta S..
what came into my notice is,
the spoiler has a bigger over hang at the sides..frankly i love it and wish the kit(side skirts, spoiler and bumper skirts)were available for all the fiestas..
secondly, does the Fiesta S have manual boot opening!!!
i do see a boot lock facility!!
my ZXi had no such stuff and its just the remote usage!

My Fiesta 1.6 SXI has both remote as well as manual boot opening, think the S and SXI version have it.

you guys talking about a key hole on the boot in terms of manual opening?

I own a ZXI and there is a boot lid button on the dash and a button on the remote key as well.

Well it was the pictures in your post that made me think of the white pretty seriously. Earlier, I was sure that I wanted the black only.

The white sure looks stunning as well and is definitely easier to maintain.

With the black, well, I could get closer to 'The Inspiration'. A black car with 5 pointed alloy and relatively low profile tyre

Yes sir. The S does have the manual boot opening facility. Did not realize that it is only provided on select variants - seems too trivial a thing to do so. IMHO it should be provided on all variants.

@ nairrk - typo from my side. I paid around 16.5K
(16,349 to be precise). The insurance company is Bajaj Allianz. Primary reason was that the ex-showroom price is much lower with the A-list discount.

Zxi variant do not have a boot key hole.
The boot has to be opened either pressing the boot release button on the dash or use the remote (if you have open the boot from outside). For me this system seems more comfortable

Congrats ABZ on the great buy. I would have gone for the 1.6S version but since sxi had more comfort/utility features like foldable rear seat, rear cup holder, better suspension, better interiors I opted for the sxi.
I somehow feel the 1.6S is a notch more powerful (or at least feels so) than the sxi. Or it could be that my TD car was tuned to be so.
