I did try this & it worked but once you switch off the system & restart it, its gone. I mean you need to do this everytime you switch on the music system. Anyway to make it permanent.

The sound is very similar to the sound of boot opening. It is observed to be coming from dashboard area. I tried strongly pushing down the bonnet by hand standing beside the front wheel outside (both sides). Suspension bumps up only once (does not bounce) as expected and there is no sound heard from outside.

The wheel alignment/balancing was done 5K km ago and is pending now. But I doubt it will address this issue. 40K service was done around 2K km ago and this issue wasn't observed then.

What could be wrong here? Has anyone faced similar issue? What should be my next steps to troubleshoot this?

Thanks
I know exactly what you are saying and I am facing the same problem on my 38k done Figo TDCi. The suspension seems to be OK in terms of bounce and resistance but there is that noise that comes every time I pass over the plastic speed breakers in my society. The bigger ones with correct slope give no trouble but the plastic ones that has a steep rise and fall in a short distance seems to stress the front suspension some how. I tried approaching at an angle but that does not help much.

I was facing a rear suspension problem, they replaced the shock ups and then the suspension too. Squeak squeak still was there. Till I asked them to hoist the car up and we saw the left rear springs were not aligned properly. Realigned and noise gone.

I don't know if the same might apply to the front suspension.

Wow, even am facing this issue on plastic speed breakers. But can't hear this noise on any other occasion. If i tackle breaker at 4-5 km hr speed, it's fine but anything more the squeak sound is there. I'll be sending my car for 10k service within week, will ask them to inspect the issue.

The plastic speed breakers are a major turn off, no matter at what speed & angle you approach them, they tend to stress the suspension & cause issues over the long run. But ensure you tackle them at the lowest speed possible, my Swift had faced many hassles due to them, so I am extra careful with the Figo.

My Figo is giving out the same squeak squeak noise in the rear side could it be the suspension or the boot?. Will have the same checked during the 20k service (currently running at 17.5k), or do you suggest that I have it checked immediately.

That squeaky noise is not from the suspension. It is from the C pillar plastic trim.

I faced the same at 33K kms so I removed the trim, put tissue paper and AC duct insulation and the voila!! the squeak disappeared.
The A** guys were asking me to change the whole strut assembly at the back. I did not and did this DIY.

78K kms now and no issues with suspension till now. Squeaks came back at 60K (roads are really bad at my place) but again I put some paper in and sound gone.

Thanks a ton for the info, will try it out this weekend & let you know if the squeaky noise has subsided.

I too had the squeaking noise problem which I had reported in my 10K service and it turned out be the same C pillar plastic trim issue mentioned by figo_mba.

That's a relief! I hope same is the case with front suspensions of my Figo. As I mentioned earlier, the front suspensions appear to be working fine (by externally testing it). Now, it is tough to find out what is loose around the dashboard area because of so many possibilities. Let me try to pin-point that now.

I was more concerned since I plan to go on a 1000+ km trip next week. Shouldn't be an issue I presume.

Thanks, I have similar problems. Today the vehicle is under service, they have identified some problem with the front suspension. On the rear we were not able to reproduce the issue completely. Let me check this DIY later.
One general question, Do suspension changes in part or whole come under the warranty? The Service guy this morning was telling me that some parts have a warranty of only 20K kms. Is this true?

Update: 40K service: The front suspension noise has reduced. The steering column squealing persists, feels like its gotten worse like no lubrication. Rear humming noise (occurs only at low speeds <35kmph and vanishes), service guy says the shocks have to be replaced.
Guy was adamant its the rear shocks that's cause of the noise and not the bearings.

I am quite sure it is the bearing itself. Shocks will not create a humming noise and go away after a certain speed. Don't know what these service advisor takes us customers for.

I have the same issue on my Figo's rear left and after many posts to and fro on this thread, finalized it was the bearing itself.

Agree with you, it does'nt seem like the shocks are at fault because this noise does occur on good road sections as well. This was the diagnosis at Metro Ford, StMarks Road, the guys over there are always busy, running around here and there and find no time to diagnose the faults. The best that they do are regular service, top ups, good body work and collecting last minute feedbacks. Wondering whether I have to take my Ecosport for service there or look for another centre?

Has your issue been rectified?

Nope, my car runs hardly 40-50kms every week, so I have left it until the next service.

I found the part number of the same bearing which is used by Ford and can be purchased outside and fixed for a much lower rate. If you check the posts under my name on this thread, you will find that post.

Looks like many of us are reporting similar problem. I have also have something similar on my Figo TDCi currently at 19K kms and less than 2 yr old. I think it is the sound of the suspension only and comes the suspension is expanding. So you will notice it only when you go over those poorly designed bumps where suddenly car is in the air and suspension expands. There is no such sound when suspension is compressed under weight. My 20K service is coming up. Will get it checked then to see what is the real issue.

I dont think its the plastic trim sound. Look at my explanation above. We may be talking about two different sounds here.
