nice buddy, a very neat install.

1) in the front, those are JBL comps right? where are the tweeters placed?

2) why dint you install the front speakers in the existing slot, that is, inside the speaker grill?

3) which amp are you using?

4) if its a single 4 ch amp, then i assume the rear speakers on the boot door will be running off the HU, can they be heard?

1. Exactly like how it is in your scorp. Unlike yours, it is placed on the dashboard. I will post a pic.

2. Well i had the same question but forgot to ask during the installation. . Honestly i just left it to nitrous to decide how the setup should be and since i didnt have any concerns i didnt ask him.

3. Same as yours! JBL S644

4. Yes, that is correct. I hear the rear speakers very well. But i'm curious to check how it is when place in second row doors.

i dont know whether this has something to do with SQ, but the integrated speaker would have looked cleaner, thats it. but i am sure there must be a reason.

our cars are quite similar!

i have placed it on the second row door. frankly, since its not connected to the amp, the front comps still overpowers it. but compared to my earlier setup in the boot, the rear speakers (mine are comps) can be heard a wee bit more now.

Also, the placement of the midbass is such that it the sound resonates under the rear seats creating a nice effect!

by the way, you have a cool HU!

also, as can be seen in the 5th pic, what does the slim/long box behind the sub box do? what is it for?

Actually, i have read this issue somewhere in this forum earlier and if i recollect it right, the units manufactured these days accomodate this change in FM frequency. I found one article however not sure if this is going to work or not. Nothing wrong in giving it a try though. This is for changing the tuner setting to european frequencies (I beleive it is even too?)

You may be able to set the tuner to European stations by following this procedure.
- Press and hold down the SRC button to power down the unit completely.
- While the unit is off press button 1 & 5 together, while momentarily pressing the SRC button.

If this does not work try the following proceedure;
- Press and hold buttons 1 and 5 together, while momentarily pressing the reset button.

If this does not work then the unit is not designed to pick up European frequency steps

Searched the forum and found these links for you -

Give this a try too and let me know how it goes. This functionality should definitely be there built in.

hmm, where are the 1 & 5 buttons?
on the remote or something.
I just hope there is some functionality built in to adjust the tuning, man, i'm already facing withdrawal symptoms cos of not being able to get my station...
did you manage to get this to work?
also, i dont see any advanced settings..
this does not bode well for me.
after spending a packet on getting a "talking-dancing" stereo, i'll have to go jugaadu and connect my phone to the auxiliary to get 95Mhz.......

hey bala, and klassics....
shot my weekend to hell, and found out there is NO way to get this unit to tune into even freqs.
best workaround is to get a small mp3/FM player and put it on aux for your station.
am thinking of getting a Sony mw600(the blue-tooth hands-free with inbuilt FM) and put it as auxiliary-in.
solves both FM needs and car hands-free need...
currently solving with my gogear.

say, did you manage to get video from your ipod?
does your ipod-to-computer cable work, or do you need that pioneer cable?

@mayankk - Well, i definitely think there should be a work around.

Did you try this - Press "Func" key in the unit/remote continuosly for 5 seconds when the unit is powered off, and then keep scrolling down to "FM Step". Change it from 100 which will be default to 50 Khz and then try tuning the station. I dont have the same unit but im going to install one pretty soon. If this also doesnt work, i will check with my other sources and will update you.

Let me know how this goes.
