I received the delivery of my Swift VXI ABS today. (At Varun Motors, Hyderabad). The engine is K series engine and the date of manufacture of the engine was 8 Jan, 2010.

For all those people wondering about the interiors of the Swift, you do not have audio controls on mounted on the steering for VXI. (Still only available in ZXI).

The seat fabric looks different and other 'cosmetic' changes are barely
noticeable.

The brochure was not available at the dealer. As far as the delivery process goes, the less said the better. It was organized chaos at the showroom.

Avoid Varun - Begumpet, Hyderabad.

Thanks
--RK--

Here are shots of the tyres and interiors.

I have never driven manual in India. I have driven only auto abroad which are more easy and fun to drive on the motorways.

My only experience with manual was the maruti 800 of the motor training school. Since both the cars are inherently different, it would be foolish to draw a comparison.

The car is pretty responsive, I feel that the gearbox could have been better.

regards
--rk--

Here are some pics of the engine bay and some labels on the engine.

FE figures will be updated later coz the car is just a day old.

Anyways, the recent increase in RoadTax and VAT made AP the most expensive state to own a car. Consequently, my pockets was lighter by additional 25k.

Hence, plans for alloys / Bridgestone potenza's have been shelved.

For ICE, I am getting Alpine IDA-X303 from US. (199$ from BestBuy).

Front Speakers will be JBL / Polk Audio Components.

Will not be installing any sub or rear speakers for now.

As far as the drive goes, I'll take a little time for getting used to stick shift.

I am getting similar mileage ~ 10kmpl.

However, I am a new driver to Indian roads and my driving style high revs the engine. Further, I drive only in city. I expect 13-14kmpl after 1st service.

Hopefully things will improve down the line.

Congrats on your new acquisition. Swift is one of the best hatch sold in the country, now with the K series engine it's even better.

Congrats for the first swift with K-series engine on tbhp.

Can you please throw some light on NVH, Low end torque and some performance figures?

Maruti is advertising this engine as if some rocket engineering is involved. What is your overall opinion on this engine?
