@ driverace - they have 2 OE covers - referred by them as the 'cheap one' and the 'pricey' one. Ask for the 'Pricey' one (costs around 2.5k)
Did they put servo in your car? I thought all Hyundai service stations changed over to Shell - thats what the SA told me 6 months back.

Yup, as usual, they gave me the cheapo cover,
But, I wanted to confirm with you!
Good thing I didnt buy the one there.
the texture like I said was also kinda cheap!

your suggestions on steering cover in previous post?
any other suggestion
Your car is very well dressed, I know, you have good taste too!

@ the oil,
Ya, they gave me Servo!
No shell was there!!

Any way, I will change that myself next time I go for an oil change..
What oil you running (did you change that after your 10K on odo?, I didnt catch any mention on your profile..)

care,

Ace.

Well to be fair - the beige cover on the black steering is not a great looker
(completely IMO). A black machine stitched cover would look good.

I am yet to go for 3rd free service. Mine is now running the Shell Helix they put in time of 2nd free service.
BTW check out the recent pics of my car here: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/owning...ml#post2037983

Thank you skumar!
The covers are really customized work!

I started off the search of covers (where else!) from tbhp.
I saw all kinds of covers, and finally decided up with leather ones, stitched and tight!
but, then I also saw a few leather covers which carried a sag look of a bean bag (I dont remember the site.)

I went to 12 seatcover makers/suppliers in all here!!

I looked at all the covers from 600 bucks wala to like 10000 wala !!
I was smitten with leather even after that.

But, then, One day while browsing at a shop, I saw this cover for civic.
I told the guy, the feel was awesome, and I want this exact fabric/cover.
He told me its called "American Velvet", and the lots of this do not come on regular basis, the cloth is also not a regular available, plus, our dealers take the cloth in Mumbai and stitch it for particular cars.
So chances of getting exact such are remote!

I told him, I am buying this cover right now!
You arrange the lot, and get it stitched for my i10.
He agreed, and next week called me to see a similar cover.

He did show me a similar cover, but it was in white color (which I am sure would be spoiled in a weeks time tops!! ), and a softer fabric (bit too soft).
I was very stubborn with the color, as I thought my choice color was not-too-bright-not-too-dull sort!
and I dismissed the cover.
(the guy agreed, as I had mentioned "exact same cover!")

a month later, the guy called, "Its here!"
I took off from work.
Went down at the shop, and really pleased to see to cover. Exact !
Saw it for finish, and was satisfied.
Guy looked at me with sheepish look.
Asked him, "Whachya waiting for pal!?" dress her up!!

He gladly did the process.

Now see, he had the resource, good material, but didnt really get the fullest of my satisfaction right away.

While installation, the seats were all puffy !! that was a real put off ~ believe me, (I have no pics to explain, but seats looked really down)

The installer tried to argue, "Saab, yeh to aisa hi rehta hai!"
" Toh isko rehne nahi deneka rey!"

Installer (almost losing his heart, thinking I was going to ask him to pull down the covers!) "waisa fitting to lather mein hi ataa hai"
" Humko lather bhi nahi chahiye! "

I saw another cover carefully, there were two strings in the cover.
I pulled them, and the cover fit like skin!

I showed the guy. and asked him to pull the strings harder, and tie them to have the look we have now.
When done, we have the look in the pics.

If you get it installed, keep that in mind too!

I like the feel of this soft fabric, at the same time its fit is very nice too!

care,

Ace.

@Driveace, the seat covers look and have been fitted really well. I think Rs.3800 is well spent.

I too own the same car, same color ( Nov, 2008). But, since it is not used much i am stilling running it on OEM fabric cloth.

Btw, do you also get an FE of maximum of 11kmpl in city traffic conditions?

Ya, i follow your thread very much.

I was getting consistent 14 kmpl in mixed conditions
check this thread Pg 2.

I will update you on the latest Tankfull-Tankfull FE.
(As you might have read, the Speedo/Odo problem, hence, I wasnt able to calculate the FE this time)
Last time I checked:

Quote:
Curent odo: 967km

Last TankFull-to-TankFull
@14.71 kmpl !
Mann, that 14 is a consistent performer!
My driving still has 30% of learners driving (Steep slopes Start/Stop, Self-taught lessons!, etc.)+20% City+ 50% Highway & Ghats!
and, City, Highway and Ghats all on AC, as per requirement (read: switched off when really chilly!)

Services done= 01

Perhaps the second Service will step that figure up!

Care.

Ace.

P.S. I strictly keep the tyres well inflated! (OCD checks almost!)
Over and above.

11kmpl in city is tad low (not that low).
Perhaps you can carry a soft(er) foot.
Your tire is inflated well? and frequently enough?

Keep us posted.

care,

Ace.

Cool

Drove home my Crystal White 1.2L Kappa Magna i10 this afternoon.

It cost me 420009.
I got free insurance for one year with Bajaj Allianze.
Leather seat covers.
3M coating.
The usual freebies: mud flaps, mats, perfume, idol, etc
Exchange bonus = INR 15,000
Plus 2000...

I guess its an okay deal.

The turn indicators konked off after the audio system was installed.
No other issues.
