I was wondering , and other ritz owners (especially gandhi and nsbhagwat) maybe can clarify, is the 2nd service only a wash/clean/fluid top up job? Is this only for Ritz or for all K series engined models?
Thanks blackasta. Oil change @ 10k is for all K series engines I believe.

Dunno about the 1 litre engine, but for my 1.2 Swift, the second service is a wash/clean/tighten/top up job too, though there are still 2000 odd kilometers before I can get to that mark.

Also, after having recently been in a Ritz VXi, I feel that the Ritz is better insulated against the engine note than my Swift, or maybe its just me.
I honestly haven't felt any "restriction" of the engine right from day one anyway, so maybe I have not noticed any difference. However I've noticed that after warming up the RPM settles @ 600 as compared to the earlier 800, hence feels even more silent.

Basically the 2nd service is more of inspection. The only fluid that needs topping up probably is the coolant & windscreen wash! Apart from that belt tensions are checked and adjusted if necessary. W/A & W/B is also done @5k (and recommended every 5k).

Default RHS Combination Switch

Finally, after a fairly long wait (2 months), the faulty RHS combination switch assembly was replaced under warranty. Boy, MSIL sure makes "plasticky" cars!
No wonder the rattles! And compared to the new Michelins on my 10 year old Zen, the JK's on the Ritz feel real noisy!

Default 3rd free service @1 year

Thanks to our "newest" baby (no, not a car; this is a real one), the Ritz was literally grounded for the past 6 months.

Time waits for no one; thus just within a period of 6 months during which the car did a 1000 odd km, today it went for its 3rd free service with the odo reading 6100km. (Thank God I didn't buy a diesel for the wife!)

Service center : SAI Service, Wagholi, Pune

Appointment was pre-fixed and the car was picked up from the house. I had no problems to report to the Service engineer.

Even though engine oil change is mentioned @10000 km, I got the oil & filter replaced in addition to "routine servicing" and 5 tyre rotation.

Car delivered back home in 6 hours with a bill of 930. Overall not bad. Have to DRIVE now!

I just wanted to know if the dash-mounted tachometer of the Ritz Vxi is sold seperately over the counter by MASS or other spare part shops, and the price. Thanks

Hi there Zen2001!

How is your Ritz as far as maintenance costs go? There is plenty of information on the forum about the DDIS cars, but hardly anything about the K-series Ritz. How much does it cost for one of the major services, say 20/40k?

I guess (dont have the exact details now) the 20k one was approx Rs 3000.
Will check again and update.
