I just noticed. MPL did not stick a sticker on my car. I absolutely love that fact.

BTW - a colleague asked me. Why is the diesel more expensive?

I remember someone asking this question and Mustang answered it.

It was because:
- More durable materials used for the Engine
- More vibration absorbing stuff inside
- Turbo added.

But does this all add to a lakh more? Or are there some things I missed out?

I'm not a Mechanican Engineer - so give me your inputs.

I think you summed up the list pretty good.

Though the turbo accounts for more % of the increased cost.

There is also a Marketing angle involved in diesel car prices. Diesels are priced at a premium because the market is willing to pay a premium.

I agree with you Gilead but theres a catch.

When we sell a fiesta TDCi, then ford india is earning a slight premium than by selling a fiesta 1.6.

However when it comes to the figo, The TDCi does not fetch any premium whatsoever.

I was parking in my basement and I didnt notice a open manhole. The car's front and back tires went through.

I parked and noticed a steady dripping from the underside of the car.

Is it the AC that generally drips a lot after stopping the car or is it something more sinister?

I was damn furious. But hell, this is India. I complained to the Admin, lets see what happens.

Wow Brix, an incident like that can do serious damage to the suspension. I guess your car didn't get stuck in the manhole right?

AC generally drips water. Touch it and see. If it's water you are good. If it feels and smells oily then there could be trouble.

I think it should be water from A/c only. Did you notice whether any continuous leak of any fluid throughout the way your car has travelled from gate to your parking lot. Did the leak happened after hitting the manhole?

Awwwwwwwwwwwwww ! <heart sinking>

It didnt occur to me to smell it that time, but I just went down and checked it. Seems to have evaporated with a small pool left under the car.
But the evaporated portion left a white border. Probably some sediment already on the floor.

I started it now, no problem. Didnt blow up or something.

Tire didnt get stuck, just went through it, as though it was a deep pit. Didnt see any damage adjacent to the tires.

I love America for that. If so, by now I could have sued the Company for unsafe working conditions.

I checked after I hit the manhole. And the manhole was in the basement of the Office. Its just a few yards to my parking slot. More like a storm drain which is square in shape. It was left open because the generator guys were draining their water using a pipe.

It was a steady drip from under the car. In fact from the center point under the car. I had no way of determining if the drip happened before or after I hit.

The drip you are talking about should be water only, Ford cars do pee a lot when the ac is ON & its a steady flow of approximately 60-180 drops per minute. My Ikon & Fusion do that too.

Anyways it is still better that you check & confirm it.

UPDATE on Sunfilm.

I put the 3M RE 35 for the Green Ghost today. They look awesome. Just the right amount of balance of darkness and lightness. Plus the subtle mirror finish looks superb.

Did it from Balaji Agencies in Teynampet. Very professional. Although watching the process is quite gut wrenching. I mean the way they rip out the doors and use the blade on the glass. Next time I'm sending my driver..... .

I'm waiting for the doormats, and once they come I'm done. Not planning on any other accessories for now.
