Hey Ricky
I think Alok is referring to the Kashmiri Gate motor part market.
Any surely you do not need to drive down there, now when the metro is functional from gurgaon(GGN) take the metro from GGN, change at CP and hop in to the one going to Kashmiri gate.
And I too am sure that you might get the part there.
Cheers

Harjeev paaji - Last I heard, Metro was operational only between Iffco Chowk and Mehrauli. South Delhi stretch is still WIP else I would have been commuting every day to my office at CP and not WFH to such an extent that my colleagues look at me as a new joinee each time I visit work once in a blue moon

@Ricky - were you able to get the part from Singapore? Had been busy shifting home and settling down at the new place over the last few weeks and hence, was unable to check on the progress.

Nope the indicators have not come in yet. Though I am told they'd come in by the month end.

That is one thing which irritates me no end on a daily basis.

Cheers

Oh I did not know that. Yes I have spent considerable time & effort & ....but I don't think I am proud of what I have done. As it is the garage that has done what it has I was just fulfilling a dream !!

Thanks anyways

The car should be going back to the "garage" for fixing niggles that got left out. As the owner was not around.

Will keep the thread posted]

Well the car is now back at the garage for the final "tweaks"

Hopefully the grille will be aligned properly this time around. The car is also getting a set of new wheel bearings, as I thought they were "gone" - too noisy. Wonder how the garage missed such a basic thing !!!!!

The alignment (more so the camber) was way out, wondered a second time how that was missed...I was too much in a rush to have the car, hence ignored it initially, but this time around it has to be perfect. Which I am sure it will be !

Hope to have the car back in a day or so. Will post after I have driven & formed an opinion.

Cheers

Been over a week & I am looking forward to the car returning - with all the "glitches" taken care of.

Will post my views & maybe some pictures of the corrected grille once I get her back.

Cheers

Cool The Second Home Coming !!

Got back the car today from the workshop. Drives like a dream (as it did before) only better. Now that she's running new wheel bearings. the ride is whisper quiet.

The front grille is realigned hence almost perfect. Side indicators changed finally

Gear shifts are a tad better, the lever was adjusted. So all in all

Just drove for about 15 kms so no major review, but I can tell she's way better just because of the wheel bearings itself.

Will post some fresh pics hopefuly in the next day or so

@vjabraham

Thanks - I am glad you like the car. Wanna buy ?? LOL

Cheers

Ok so here is the merc with it's grille straightened out & the side fender indicators in place.

Here are some pics - she also got a fresh coat of polish note the water forming beads on the hood !!

Keeping my fingers crossed.

Cheers

Ricky - looks lovely, i keep an eye out for every post from you on this thread. It's great to be living one's dream, and many dream about the W124. It requires patience, a nice workshop, an eye for perfection and a fair bit of the green stuff, and lot of dedication to get where you have with this one.

New upholstery next?

Ah lovely!
It certainly is something for me to look up to now that I have set the ball rolling by buying myself an W124 E220. It's gonna be white too (eventually)!
