I've decided to drop of the car at TASS for bumper replacement and fender repairs by claiming insurance.

Any pointers? First time I'm claiming insurance for my car.

Hey Praful, really sad to see the damage. At the same time, relatively glad to know nobody, including the biker was hurt seriosly. Was that just a nick?? Seems the biker was terribly fast! If you weren't careful and slow, a bit heavier impact and he'd probably in orbit! I really feel our bikers simply don't have any judgment what so ever when riding at speeds and turning. Somehow in b2b traffic they love to put through gaps between cars without ever thinking of their foot rests, mirrors (if not removed for sneaking into gaps) and handle bars scratching cars or smashing the tail lamps / mirrors of cars. Even more frustrating since I wait behind cars even if their is a gap sufficiently large for my bike to go through...All Jorge Lorenzos and Valentino Rossis out there... Good luck with your repair job and do post the pics after you get her back. Makes me sick to see damaged cars of fellow bhpians...

Cheers!

TASS has done a good job, there is no indication of the accident!

EDIT: This job was carried out at KHT Motors, Whitefield. Seems to be a rpretty well run place. Contemplating getting my next scheduled service done here.

That sounds very reassuring!

How many days did it take to receive the parts? (I mean Fog Lamps & Bumper and all)

If possible, do share more pictures of your car.

Do keep us updated as you clock more miles in your car. Drive safe

I would have shared some pictures too, but its dark and flash shots won't do justice!

Parts were already in stock, I had confirmed before I dropped the car off for repairs. They completed the job within 4 days. But the car was there for exactly a week as I could not find time to pick it up over a working week.

Waiting to clock another 1K kms, before I give it for service

Alright, long time no update!

The engine oil was nearly 13K kms old and the car was serviced about 7K kms back plus it was starting to run a little rough. So I decided to get it serviced. I dropped it off at TASS KHT Motors Whitefield.

With 31K on the odo and car being nearly 5.5 years old, these slightly mammoth figures translated into a slightly mammoth service bill!

I got *most* of the recommended items changed. Here's a complete list of components/jobs/prices of what all was done as mentioned in the bill.

1. Oil Filter - 131/-
2. Fuel Filter - 175/-
3. Air Filter Element - 188/-
4. Power Steering Belt - 292/-
5. Sealer - 392/-
6. Super Glue - 9/-
7. Brake Shoe Kit x 2 - 2095/-
8. Brake Drum - 872/-
9. Spring Adjuster - 8/-
10. Clutch Master Cylinder - 1136/-
11. Support - 210/-
12. Bearing Timing Belt - 396/-
13. Radiator Coolant - 423/-
14. Securing Strap - 292/-
15. Alternator Belt - 307/-
16. Lever - 52/-
17. Brake Fluid - 163/-
18. Engine Oil - 1630/-
19. Oil Change Service - 1200/-
20. Brake System Check - 800/-
21. Clutch Master Cylinder Install - 1000/-
22. Shifting Mechanism Recondition - 700/-
23. Belt Replacements - 1300/-

Final Bill of Parts - 9960/-
Final Bill for Labour - 5515/-

Grand Total - 15476/-

All major belts/fluids etc were changed as a part of the service. 30K kms is a bit early but then the car is also almost 6 years old. So I guess now there is no need for a major service for another 45K kms/3 years atleast!

EDIT: The service centre had additionally recommended replacing the clutch. Which is 10K with parts and labour, why would a 30K run car need a clutch assembly replacement. The other TASS I had given the car for service 7K kms had also said the same thing at 24K!

What is that 'Oil Change Service' for 1.2k?

I am guessing that it is the labor for Engine oil change. Costs as much as the engine oil itself and is outright ridiculous.

The sealant for the oil sump was leaking, so they had opened up the sump cleaned and re-applied the sealant (liquid gasket) to the sump and put it back on.

I believe the labour charges are for the above mentioned work! More than 50% of my final bill is for labour charges!

The bill amount is slightly on the higher side mainly due the labor charges. The TASS makes most of its money with only the labor bills :(

Didn't you check as to why the Clutch master cylinder was changed, was there a leakage in the part? When I last check it was costing around ~900 bucks almost a year back and now the cost has increased by 236 bucks.

By the way, how does the car feel to drive after these works done on the car?

Awaiting your feedback

There was a leak in the master cylinder even before the last time I had given it for service last time at Concorde Motors they too had recommended a change. This time got it changed. Totally about 2K for parts and labour for it. There was a minor leak which was visible in on the cabin mats.

Btw, the car was running flawlessly before service. So post service also I don't feel any major changes just that its running a bit more smoother than before. But that I feel is purely because all filters/fluids were changed.

Most of the parts changed were for preventive maintenance than any issues actually.
