Does the rear window open along with the boot if needed? One picture had just the boot opened while second picture looked like both the boot and rear window was open. Not sure if i've observed this correctly.

Yes, that's one of the features of Superb.

cool pictures. What those two JBL units just before the rear windscreen ? Are they speakers ? (not so ice savvy person, please excuse)

The camouflaging of the number plates was cool, at one place (as pointed out) "E" was missing from the rear number plates.

That brings me to the review of a part of the car I love greatly.

I'm quite a bottom man and the Skoda Superb's bottom is one that is extremely curvy and eye-catching.

But what is truly admirable is the boot.

First - the space.

If I was in the Mafia, this is the car to buy. 3 dead bodies and a suitcase and there'd be room left over. Incredibly spacious.

One of the most special things about the boot is the lid.

Instead of slamming it down, you simply bring it into close position and the lid is sucked into place. Incredible.
Of course this means telling the security doorman and everyone else all the time.

Usko buss sirf aise, aise halka sa dabao
They look at you confused.
Slam mat karo. Usko aise, pyaar se neeche karo. Apne aap band ho jaata hai.

It's lovely. No BAM! of the boot lid, no disturbance while waiting at the gate of a 5 star hotel. Nothing.

There are 2 buttons to open the boot.

Button A is standard. press it while the car is open and the boot lid is released electronically, much like any other saloon.

Press Button B, slightly to the right and then follow it up with button A and it becomes a notchback, raising the windshield as well.

A fantastic, well thought out feature.

...i could not stop laughing. indeed i face this situation everytime when i enter a Hotel or office etc. It seems Skoda guys have found the answer to the probelm. Hope they also educate security guys in India.

Imagine Skoda Boot closing training for Security guys...
That would be another way they can make money.

Superb! What a car. Its impressive how some of the features(auto closing boot lid) that were first featured in the W140 S class Mercedes have found there way into a "humble Skoda Superb".

Why would one want to do that. THe sound in the rear seat in most casrs cannot comapre to the front. In the rear seat I prefer headphones - the noise cancelling kind work very well to block out all traffic. The VFM leader in my view (not the best sound nesscarily but best VFM noise cancelling phones are the Goldring NS1000). Almost all noise cancelling phones will have a little hiss (very little) but amped with a small amp like an Airhead, FiiO or Pico they work a lot nicer.

Will ask Autobahn again.

Space - use some for the subwoofer.

My Octy's boot is also needs to be gently closed. In fact slamming the boot can damage the boot lift arm.

Went to auto show in Hyderabad yesterday, sat in the rear seat of superb and said immediately “superb”. But could not find the umbrella, maybe I was sitting on right side or it’s a manual transmission version

Day 30 of my 60 day notice period at work went smoothly with 4 hours of thorough reading and 4 hours of day dreaming about the YetiBuy.

Superb read about Superb, Samji.

What next?
