Did the first service yesterday at MPL Ford, Vellachery. The ODO was at 2535.

There were no complaints but for a slight squeaking from the rear. The process was smooth both during handing over and delivery. The SA informed that the hand brake cable was lubricated to remove the noise, but during TD the noise was there. The SA asked me to come at a convenient time so that they could look into the problem.

The mileage so far in 100% AC & city run is around 10.5. The SA told the mileage will improve slowly after first service.

The total bill was for Rs.835.

Wash fluid - 50.76
Oil filter 113.64
Oil (3.8lt) 577.60

VAT 92.76

I had given the vehicle for service with very low fuel. As I drove to my regular petrol bunk today, the DTE showed zero. I had run around 380 kms since last fill and I was sure that around 7 lit petrol should be there. It took 36.34 lit to fill the tank.

I just started to wonder why some cars squeak and others dont and the same with scarpping under body!!

While I do not have any logic for underbody scrapping (must be badly designed humps)

The only thing I did different was to go for underbody coating. Others who are not getting squeaks, have you done a similar thing?

Your FE is similar to mine. I get around 10 with the aircon on all the time.
And strangely I was charged some 966.
Oil filter charge was the same, I guess they charged me more for the oil.

Could be different batch of cars?

Default A positive feed back for MPL body shop

Last Friday the car had the first major damage. It was raining heavily and I had not opened out the gate fully and further the gate moved in a few inches due the heavy wind. While reversing out of the garage, the front left side of the the bumper got pulled out by the door.

Drove straight to the MPL body shop and was immediately attended by a service adviser (Mr.Ramesh). He gave me the estimate after insurance claim and the paper work was quick and smooth. Immeditaly after leaving the workshop I got an SMS from ICICI Lombard about the claim registration. By 4 pm the SA called informed that the surveryor has approved the claim. and the car will be ready by 3 pm next day.

Saturday morning by 11 am, I got a call saying that the car is ready. I went by 4.30pm and left the place within 15 min after paying the dues.

Really good work by MPL.

I had asked for the under body painting to be done and the same was also completed.

THE FE in 100% city drive with AC is hovering around 10.5

Sorry to hear that Raju, I can understand, how you would've felt.

I'm really Glad it worked out good for you. I hope I'll have some good experiences to share as well in the future.

How's the underbody paint work? They offered that during the first service, I told them that I'm planning to do it when it goes for the second 3M Coating.

Excellent response from Ford. If theycan do this consistently across the nation no doubt about the future of the brand.

Completed 20000 kms and did the third service. Would like to close this thread with my experiences with the car for the last 16 months.

Positives:

It is a pleasure to drive this car. Precise steering feed back, excellent road grip, almost nil body roll, good gear ratios so the you don't have keep shifting again and again, excellent visibility.

Nice features like electrically adjustable ORVMs, rear wipers, auto door locking.remote key

Large boot, good seating comfort.

Long service intervals

Things I would have liked to have but not a dampner.

Slightly more powerful engine, power rear windows, conventionally placed wiper and indicator switches.

Definite negatives which Ford should correct.

Very poor head lamps.
Same lever for both locking and opening the doors.
Mileage 10-11 kmpl for small car is on the lower side.

My service experiences had been good and professional. Made two insurance claims and processed without much hassels.

Right now enjoying the car. Will update on the long term thread after a few months.
