Car looks smashing. Imagine how it will be with a 1.6 or 1.2TSI under its hood!!!

Waiting patiently ...

Akshay, 100% with you. I was hinting at the high speed dynamics of the car. Aerodynamic design is also a major contributor for mileage as well as handling.

yes but depends on what you call high speed. if its around 120-140 i dont think they will be a 'major' role. same way a spoiler dosent really help at speeds below 190-200.

Air Resistance increases exponentially after 80-90 KMPH for most cars. Superior aerodynamic design can up this threshold. Also it can bring down the Resistance quotient at higher speeds.

But this can mainly help in improving FE. Handling and road behavior will mainly depend on Chases, CG, Suspension & braking ability.

I still feel this can contribute to the high speed stability. Try out a quick high speed lane change in a boxy car and compare with a car designed with aerodynamic stance. The results will be obvious specially if you have crosswinds.I agree so many other factors contribute to this. Leaving the topic to experts.

Hey Poloman, congrats on your latest acqusition.

I just posted on Chetan's thread and was wondering if you had the diesel version as well. Was unable to get onto Tbhp from over a week now since I myself was rejoicing in my latest Buy, Getz 1.3 !!

As posted on Chetan's thread, how about we meet up this weekend in case you guys can pull out sometime. I would love to see to 2 "Folks" in person and we all can have a photo session with out latest rides!!

Hi Poloman,

When you drove at 140, was there still room to go beyond 140? Because in the broacher they have claimed the top speed of 162.9.

Poloman, congrats on your Polo!

Don't confuse aerodynamics with handling of a car. The handling dynamics of a road car comes from its chassis/weight distribution/braking effeciency/suspension.

Aerodynamics need higher speeds to be anything called effective and those speeds are not something one can think of on our Indian highways. Even for a spoiler to be useful, the speed should be well above 180KM/H.

hey buddy congrats on your long awaited beauty. So planning for any addons? Did the dealer say anything about type of petrol which should be used? I recall reading somewhere that dealer recommended on using only normal petrol and not the premium ones.

Thanks guys.
Congrats vik0728 for your Getz. We will plan a meeting soon.
Pawan, there was not so much room to go beyond 140. may be mainly because the car is not properly run in.
Formel, I got floor mats and a car cover. All other accessories were out of stock. I am planning to get scuff plates, plastic floor mats for rains and the chrome strips for air dam. Also the Euro headlamps then and there if made available India.
anachronix, please go through the wiki link on handling.

mate you forget to comment on my petrol query. Also did you inquire about the availability of euro style headlamps at dealer, maybe he can import on special request?? let him know that demand is good and we can rope in interested guys.

Sorry Formel I missed your question. But I did not ask specifically about this. I have filled normal petrol full tank from a nearby trusted HP pump.
bull, the Euro highend models have a chrome strip around the air dam as in this picture. It is missing in Indian Polo.
