That is some serious literature man! Mubarakaaan! I love the alloys too on this baby. Drive safe and like the others have requested: Pics phaalees! That heavy duty description without pictures is an anticlimax! Boooooooooo!! Enjoy her to the fullest.

Congrats! dude and welcome to the BOLD club. Driving Punto on the express way is just addicting. I came back from Pune on Sunday with average speed of 120-130 on the express way, at the end I was thinking of taking another trip back to Pune . The ride is just amazing.

Which color did you opt for. Do post some pics.

Sumobom4,

I may end up hijacking your thread. I'm yet open an ownership thread, but I have a couple of pictures . I cant wait to post the pirctures until I start the ownership thread. I'm planning a long trip to my home town this weekend, a much needed vacation after a couple of busy quarters.
I'm glad to see the kind of attention the PUNTO threads getting in Team-bhp. Even after one year of launch it is still attracting almost all Team-Bhpians.

You are absolutely right about the attention the car attracts on teambhp, the cool bit is that the same is reflected on the road as well. The Punto draws a lot of attention on the road. I am hoping that with the new 90Hp model, Fiat will latch on to a few more passionate customers, hence, brand ambassadors of the finest kind.

Congrats sumobom4
Love those lines.

Reading your description about punto clearly says that you are madly in love with her just like me. :P
Lucky you. Possibility for a new car isn't any where to be seen on my horizon. :(

Congrats sumobom for the gorgeous Fiat. Your diva analogy worked perfectly.
It certainly scores heavily over others w.r.t. handling, ride quality & looks.
Happy mile crunching.

Thanks Guys for the overwhelming response! I will be meeting my friend today evening after office and getting the pics on the SD card. But he says they haven't come out too well due to the near non-existent ambient light in the basement where the delivery was made. Nevertheless, pics are pics and expect them to be up tonight. I will have to shoot Formosa myself, but it has been raining continuously these days, so getting my SLR out is a bit dodgy.

In the meanwhile, a small update. She has been so addictive that I have made 2 Bombay-Pune runs and 1 Pune-Bombay run so far, in less than a week! 600 km clocked! Efficiency on the highway hovers around 17 and in the city it is 12-13 in Pune and 10-11 in Bombay. Overall FE so far using full tank (auto-stop) method is 15. WOW!

No problem! We all lust after these beauties and the more pics, the better!

sumobom, you will find a definite engine refinement and smoothness around the 3000 km mark and you will enjoy the ride even more. The sluggishness that you see at lower gears during the initial runs will also disappear as you run more. I have clocked 11500 kms on my Punto so far and it sure has impressed a lot

More updates:

I got the accessories fitted yesterday in Bombay. Since she is fully loaded, I hardly needed any extra stuff, so I was able to splurge a bit.
  • Llumar Sun Film for sides and rear (don't remember the code, but it is from the Silver series with black tint and 50% visible light transmittance) - Rs. 4500
  • Llumar Sun Film for front windscreen (AIR 75, 78% visible light transmittance) - Rs. 6500
  • Philips 55/60W headlamp bulbs (brighter than stock ones, couldn't put in 90/100W ones as the accessories guy said that the extra relay would show up as an error in the ECU diagnostic) - Rs. 1100
  • Mapmyindia Sat Nav (3.5 in. screen basic model w/o bluetooth) - Rs. 8000
  • Boot mat - Rs. 550
  • Car Body Cover - Rs. 450

I didn't get seat covers now, as I wasn't too impressed with the selection available there and wanted to wait until the monsoon was over. Plus I like the OEM fabric on the seats with the brilliant Punto logo!

On a different note, on Monday when I was going from Pune to Bombay in the evening, it was raining very heavily and the Goodyears performed very nicely. And I can continuously sing praises of the superb steering which communicated even a minor puddle that either of the front tyres hit. I am also enjoying the attention Formosa attracts. When I had stopped for some snacks at Egg Sunday on the Expressway, a couple of people came up to me and asked me if she was any good! My reply was that you need to be intimate with one to find out! Even when I was at the food counter, people were going round the car, staring at her from all angles!

Hey Mum! What was that you were saying about getting me married?
