| Tata Venture MPV is launched in UP now. Tata's are taking it lightly as No information available about venture in their website. |

| Senior - BHPian | The looks are very good and hope this eats up the market share of Omni & Eeco. Let's hope that Tata gives little more importance to the vehicle and come up with the Disc Brakes. |

| The Venture is launched in Kerala. The advertisement has come in today's news paper. I contacted in the number given. They told the vehicle will be available for demo and test drive from 16 Feb onwards at Popular Mega Motors, Kochi (In NH Byepass, Palarivattam). The news cutting enclosed. | This fits well into the segment below the Winger. The Omni still soldiers on. I think the charm of the Omni lies in its simplicity. I see the same simplicity in the Venture. On design, definitely better than the Eeco and the Omni. I have a very dumb question, why the sliding door on only one side? ![]() Cheers! Cartman. ![]() |

| Distinguished - BHPian ![]() | Cartman One is not supposed to get off from the car on the drivers side (accept for the driver) so it is a standard practice for many van internationally to provide only one door. It saves significant costs as well and just like in a bus one gets off on only one side the correct side. This is safer as well, but the reason they do this for is not safety but costs. It is a standard and acceptable way of doing this in a people carrier without really compromising comfort. |

| Thanks for answering. Cost cutting did come to my mind, but not providing a door sounded weird. All said and done, this vehicle is probably Tata's best effort for taking on the Eeco. Cheers! Cartman. ![]() |

| A humble request to Prateek/Schitre and ACM: I saw the vehicle parked today at Balaji's on my way to work. Can I request any one of you gents to take a test drive of the vehicle and give your views? I want to take a test drive but I cannot get off at Balaji as I take a company car with other co-passengers. Please! |

| Today evening I visited RF Motors, Edappaly, Ernakulam (Tata Motors Passenger cars dealer). I saw the venture there. Even though I was busy and had to leave immediately, I spent 10 minutes with the venture. 1. The venture on display was the GX version, which was is the top end variant. The color was "Lunar Silver". 2. The vehicle look is good. Lunar Silver color also looks great. 3. In the GX version, the inside color (dash board etc) is beige. Looks cheap. I did not like the color. Since the exterior color of the vehicle is lunar silver, when you enter, suddenly a change in color to beige is not good. May be, champaign gold exterior GX variant with inside beige color may be matching. 4. Very spacious. The displayed one was a seven seater. 2 + 2 + 3. Eight seater is also available for the same price. 5. The sliding door and feel of closing the front doors were good. Feels strong. Behind the gear liver, there is a small square lid which opens to the top of the engine. For oil check etc. They did not start the engine, since the vehicle was inside the glass covered display area of the showroom. 6. The leaflet I collected. Please have a look. 7. The Price (Kochi) : Venture EX : Ex-show room = 4,70,840 Insurance = 16,764 Road Tax = 31350 Total = 5,18,954 Venture GX : Ex-show room = 520896 Insurance = 18437 Road Tax = 34354 Total = 5,73,687 Sorry, Venture CX price I have not collected. CX not having the turbo, Power Steering and AC. So, many may not prefer. How is 5.2 lakhs on road ? My nano LX costed me 2.04 lakhs on road. For 4 persons travel. So, for double the persons, more than 4 lakhs... Then the diesel turbo advantage, dual roof ac etc etc... Not bad. But, 99 % of the time, I will be travelling alone to office and back. Why do I require this big a vehicle ? What about you ? |

| @KMohanan, Thanks for the information. I am keen to know the performance with a full load of 8 passengers. If the power delivery is acceptable, and the vehicle does not lurch and sway too much under full load, this vehicle will be winner for TATA |

| Saw this Venture on MG Road, Kochi. Rear looks quite ordinary. Compare with the Omni by its side. Last edited by rajeev k : 15th March 2011 at 00:17. |
