Talking My White Ford Figo

She was getting old and could no more carry pot of water from the well. She would keep on moaning about her hardships. She would take abuses but warned she would leave if i abused her any more. She worked for 12 long and gruelling years and could take it no more..

She required a bypass surgery but I instead wanted to dump her...for she dranked too much and in short time even her liver would fail...So R.I.P Maruthi Zen..

It was a long overdue replacement but 2010 was the deadline. The Swift it would have been for sure. The only thing pulling back was the new revamped Swift(which never came!!)..Come 2010 a slew of new car launches..The all new Indian Small Car league started..

The ICL-2010 Trophy had many contenders
1.Maruthi Swift
2.Fiat Grande Punto
3.Ford Figo
4.Volkswagen Polo
5.Hyundai i20
6.Skoda Fabia

These cars have been discussed and compared to death already all around this forum so there is no point again in discussing about them.
Gto's review surely sealed Ford Figo for me..it was sheer VFM..the looks though a bit outdated are not at all bad..

The dealarship experience is just about par.Took about three test drives before booking at two different dealarships.Fortune and Mody Ford are the two dealers here at Hyderabad.Fortune offered absolutely no goodies whatsoever and were least intrested in selling a car.they didn't even bothere to get back to me after a TD,so went to mody who were a bit more courteous.Booked a Diamond White and was promised delivery the day I paid the remaining amount.

After booking my heart went out for POLO..what stunning looks and Quality!!Went for TD to showroom and asked for Diesel Polo. They didnt have one for TD and also were least intrested in selling one.Orion Motors for Volkswagen are losers. They suck big time.

Then the loan process started. What heck a long time it took for SBi to disbure the loan.It took 15 days for whole loan processing and when D.D was received ran to the dealer and submitted him the D.D.Enquired whether vehicle is ready.Service manager said Yes.
THen 15 min later recieve a call stating vehicle not available and delivery after Diwali.I said go to hell...i would get it from somewhere else and threatened to pull out of the deal.Dealer obliged and promised delivery the very next day..typicall Dealer Nautinki.!!

For now some pics during delivery...intial perfomancce report will take some while..

@racerme,

Congratulations on your snow leopard.

It seems that you had already made up your mind on a Figo based on GTO's report. Did you take the test drive of all shortlisted cars? You did not mention about the OTR cost, model selected and the freebies you got form the dealer.
From the pics it can be seen that its a diesel variant, any particular reason for going for diesel?

Happy mile crunching, drive safely and wear seatbelts. Take good care of the leopard.

Congrats on the white Figo. Darks tints, black wheels, will make the car look evil and hot.

Enjoy many more happy miles with the winner of the ICL 2010.

How much do they cost? Since I don't see them in the official accesory list on their microsite.

Congrats on the figo, Smart choice! Any reason for going with a Diesel over a petrol ?

Scuff plates are there in the accessories list. They cost about 1050 for 4 doors.

Well in Ford terms its called scuff plates, but a more generalised term is Sill Plate which is used all over the world, just FYI

First of all, let me congratulate you for being a proud owner of Snow leopard!

How about updating the thread on your driving impressions? I'm sure that you will upload better photos taken in day light.

Do you really need two 'Mody Ford' stickers? Personally, I don't like to have the dealer stickers as it spoils the beauty of car.
