Excellent Review Sid!! Many thanks to share with all of us.
Seems like we have a diesel winner here (base variant) - shocked to see the safety equipments are compromised even on the top variant. This can affect their sales for sure. Figo?

I'm sure it isn't a mistake. In fact, Sid has specifically mentioned the omission of the safety features. Although, the steering-wheel does look like it has the SRS Airbag logo on it. I'm not sure though. In any case, it's something Nissan should look into. Yes, the common man might just look over this omission and settle for the top-end anyway, but that doesn't mean Nissan takes advantage of that, and slashing the prices to make it look like a tastier prospect. What am I saying?! There is no slash in the prices, despite the lack of adequate safety-features, the price is quite high!

Excellent review and it has been nicely summed up thanks for bringing this up.
I think its too pricey for a hatchback, however Japs don't come out with a cheaper price tag(Suzuki being a exception). I guess Micra D won't make any dent in sales of Figo, Vista or Swift D, however there may some VW, Fiat or Fabia customers who churn out.
Now, what is the waiting period for this diesel hatch?? Does this at least readily available??
Surprising to see ride and handling better than Jap competitors., way too go Nissan
Any idea on price list of spare parts?? Also does Nissan offer any extended warranty for Micra D??

Excellent review. I am now seriously considering it as my next car. Only if the price had been a bit lower, it would have been a super sweet deal. Exactly the car I was looking for. It has the potential to become the next swift only if Nissan decides to work on its dealer network

The diesel micra has a driver airbag as standard on both XV and XV premium models, and the diesel models are available off the shelf.

Thanks for the appreciation!

The car seems to be overpriced for what it offers when you compare it to the swift/Figo/Vista etc. I had seen a car(petrol) and the interiors didn't look too good to me. Not sure why anybody would pay a premium for this car(seems to be in the region of 1 lakh over a comparable model of Figo or Vista). The engine doesn't seem to be as good as the tdci or the mjd, not very good handling too. The looks are cute no doubt but would be surprised if this car sells because of that.

A sales flop is what i expect.

Good luck Nissan.in
Its a nice car with an efficient mill for the "Mileage kitna hai ?" indian janta.
Get the pricing right to challenge the Figo.

5th gear or 3rd gear ? or were you revving with a depressed clutch ?
If that's a 5th gear then the top speed must be around 110kph. I doubt that.

Yes. It is overpriced. And combine that with the poor network; its an uphill task for Nissan. But i was told by someone working in Nissan that their main focus is going to be on exports until they build a good dealership network in India.

Great review Sid!
I am pretty surprised with the engine performance and ride and handling of this car. Sounds impressive!
Now that everyone is shouting it to be overpriced. Can someone list out the prices of its competitors along with the feature list?
For example, while comparing with Figo and Swift,we should compare with the XV model and not the XV premium as none of those cars have ACC/15"alloys.
So, compared with Figo ZXI and Swift VDI, what is the premium Nissan is asking for the diesel Micra XV? And how is the features list compared to the other cars?

Great review of a good car with bad pricing.
Any chance of a CVT/AT box with the diesel motor in near future? But pricing would remain a concern!

Neatly summed down review. Price definitely seems to break the deal.
The fact that it can pull from the third gear itself is pleasantly surprising. Superb drivability, unheard in the Multijet era.

The seductive Micra winks at me again!

Ahh well, maybe by the time I can buy, there will be ABS and more air bags, and who knows what might have happened to the price.

Thank you Sid, for an excellent review.

If you compare it to the Swift Ldi / Vdi
The Micra is terribly over priced.

A 1461cc engine producing only 64 Bhp!?
