Exactly what the new Tata Nano TV Ad emphasises. Really cute ad for a really cute car. Congratulations! Wish you many many Kms of trouble-free driving. Keep us posted on the good and bad as you have in your initial post.

FreakMuzik - Yes the security system does not make any noise while locking/unlocking.

Also i have two sensors fitted on the top corners of my front windscreen.
I am not sure if its connected to the horn!

Was out of town for last weekend, have not gone past the initial 2 days of driving!Saw a Nano in pune which had a Euro rack carrier attached.
He was driving it at a fair clip, around 90 + with full load of passengers.

Itching to add more Kms on her ODO , also please give me some time and i will surely add the interior pics soon.

Hi Guys!

After a very hectic week, i got a chance the drive my nano yesterday to office.

Have completed 252 Kms, and the E started blinking around 250 mark.
I am getting a FE of 16.6kmpl, in mostly city driving conditions, with AC on for 70% time.

The ride quality feels good and you have to do a nearly dead halt before speedbreakers.

The ventilation net above rear exhaust is very light and can easily break in case of even lesser impacts.

Has anyone though of fitting a rear crash guard?

@Silverado: Can you tell me what is the rear ventilation net.

We have paid up and bringing home our Nano on the Ugadi / Gudi Padwa day. Any special tip for the vehicle?

Milecruncher - I mean the grille and the horizontal slats just above the exhaust ,to be precise which provides cooling to the engine which is below the number plate at rear.

I found it very flimsy ( Noticed it while giving it a wash myself ).
Check it out yourself and you would agree with me.

Also intresting is the windsheild wash nozzle, which is fitted on the wiper itself! very smart and it does clean the windscreen effectively.

What are the accesories that you plan to fit?
I have yet not receive correct parking cover ( they have given me punto's ) and head rests!! inspite of giving the accesories details 2 weeks before delivery, its been 10 days since i have taken the car.

But they will deliver it to my doorstep, so no issues.

I dont have anything specific to tell you for the delivery.
Go ahead and enjoy the day and admiration that it still gathers!!!!
Drive it like a normal car, but slow down well for speedbrakers.

And most importantly , share your moments of joy with us sir

Hey Silverado, I wonder how I missed your earlier post! Hearty congratulations on your "Khushiyon ki chaabi"! Wishing you unlimitted happy and safe miles with the new big-small car (replacing the Indica at that throne IMO). Really nice colour.

I'm close to booking one. The thoughts that I bought the Vista just 4 months back are the only restraints currently holding me back. Hopefully I'll have the little Nano besides my Vista before Diwali anyway. It will probably be a silver / red CX though.

Congrats. More pictures, and regular updates anticipated...

Cheers!

Hi Silverado, and all guys, - yes the rear bumper grill does feel slightly flimsy. Infact my friend while trying to try his hand on my car banged it in reverse against my Jazz! Fortunately , no perceptible damage ( to either ) except one plastic chip from inside the rear bumper. I promptly got a rear crash guard fitted. However, the brackets holding the horizontal rod were very close to the bumper and with every vibration in the road the crash guard brackets would touch the bumper and ended up displacing it. So I had the Tata service centre adjust it. They advised me to remove the crash guard which they did not advocate any way ( earlier they said that the beam inside had provision for fitting crash guard).I have been assured that the engine is well protected and no crash guard is required.I have now removed it !

Reinhard - Why a CX? i was also going to book a CX , but changed my mind and i am happy about it.

I would advise you to go for the LX version unless colour is a hinderance for you.beleive me the 3 spoke steering, central locking, pwr windows, fog lamps central console all are worth the extra 20K that u pay for, plus you get body coloured bumpers as well!!

Amit - Thanks for the update, i will surely fit a rear crash bar soon on my nano.

If you wanna see pics do send me your personal id and i will forward it to you and kindly upload it on the forum.

Got our Nano yesterday

Even though I haven't driven it yet, I could feel the pick up and the attention. Awesome vehicle and I'm loving it !

I have a few queries though which I'll put up when I get some more miles and put up an ownership thread.

Cheers

Hey, Congratulations on your purchase. I was doing some research the other day, between the NANO and the ALTO. The basis ALTO costs 60,000 more than the top end NANO, and does not even have an AC. Eventhough its not a one lakh car, guess TATA has achieved what it set out to do, make the cheapest car money can buy.

One more thing, which model is more value for money? The 170000 STD, the 210000 CX or the 240000 LX?

Silverado, the rear or front crash guards infact should not be used on a vehicle. The problem is that they are clamped (bolted) on the chasis. During small rubs it would sure protect your vehicle. But as the name suggest "crash guard" has very less to do with it. The force implemented on the guard is transferred directly to the chasis damaging it much more than what the company tests vehicle for. This would defy the purpose of the horizontal chasis bar which would have absorbed most of the force/impact.

Here some good links to know more from experts;

Happy Riding

Nomadabhi - Thanks a lot for the links, ive changed my mind, there will be no ugly looking bars anymore!

Milecruncher - CONGRATULATIONS, and yes i felt the same as you.
Arun - IMO Top end LX is the best value for money and it is 2.30L on road Mumbai.
