Fauji sir, those are some really beautiful photographs of Malnad region. This place turns magical during and after rains. Gotta plan a trip soon. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your kind words, Airguitar. Actually after seeing your recent pictures of Kudremukh we wanted to go on that road from Kalasa. But had to take the other route as it was shorter. Your picture of Charmadi looks great. Please post if you have more. Suggest download Picassa 3. and use it for post processing. It is fun doing it:-) (Sent from my Blackberry)

What a fantastic travelogue! I am really mermerized by the pictures now. This was what you were telling me about when you met me in HSR layout on the way back from office the other day Your pictures are forcing me to pack my bags and head to the western ghats right away! I will probably head towards Mudigere - Kudremukha this time as I have been to most other places in the western ghats.

That's because of editing the pic.
This happens when you resize the pic which has been edited with more Sharpness & more saturation, particularly if you do it MS office image viewer sometimes also with Picasa too.

Awesome pics Fauji!

Though I am from MALNAD region, I hardly could see/feel the hidden beauty of the untouched, the way you captured it. Each picture says something special about the region and season.

For most of Malnad people rain doesn’t stop their daily routines school kids play, people go out for work in rain. In Agumbe, Hulikal and Hosanagar regions it rains continuously for 2-3 days. Sometimes you feel like someone is pouring a bucket of water on your windshield, it rains so heavily.

Sad part is, even though it is such a wonderful region, tourism is still primitive.

Hey Hummer, Thanks. Yes, we could see and hear the ferocity of rain in Agumbe. Let the region remain exclusive not get over touristed But i doubt it will remain like that for long.

Fauji Sir,
Should say the TL has been fantastic and with equally wonderful photos, what was the total distance of the trip? Also any new food items being added to the menu which can be tried by others including me

Thank you sir.

Yes, we had authentic Malnad cum Konkani lunch in Agumbe. "Kalale huli" (Tender bamboo sambar! - first time i was eating this), "Hurali Kattu" "Patrode" and "Dried halasina bajji". It was yummy!!

Bananki has always been a feast. We had "Buns" for breakfast along with "Akki rotti" and chutney.

In a way, that's a good thing. I have no qualms about this - tourism generally brings degeneration. Cases where tourists start respecting the places after a vist are very few.

Fauji Sir :

Suggest you dig a little more deeper into your bag of green / malnad photos and post some more photos here. Souls like me would surely get intoxicated by seeing these photos.

This is the best time to visit the Malnad region.
Had been to Kuppalli last weekend... some pics from that region.
It's just green everywhere
