Scary pics Nomadabhi. Now I realise why my drive from panvel to Thane through Mumbra took over 5 hours on Sunday early morning. From 1:30 am till 6:30 am. Damn.

@MX6, yeah, I can only imagine how it would have been in night as the morning pics are from time when water started receding. btw, what made you go from Panvel > Mumbra > Thane. Its notorious for traffic jams.
Couldn't a Panvel > Airoli > Thane be better if not Panvel > Mankhurd > Thane?

What a day it was. Rains, Ride, RDs, New friends, Greenery, mountains, waterfalls, twisties, 40 degree climb, wheel spins and all reach home with a grin :-)

Here's a teaser (rest in upcoming travelogue)

Taking Home (It was raining whole day and while I was there. But reduced to drizzle when the beast roared)

@nomadabhi - Great teaser. I hope you are posting the complete travelogue in this thread itself. Waiting eagerly for it.

Infact I am also not sure where to put it all, in same thread or a new one.

I would suggest you can put it in the same thread so that folks already subscribed to it would get the updates and don't miss out on the new thread.

You can ask the mods to edit the title of the thread by reporting the post.

Thanks nomadabhi.

Benefits of a bike - weaving through traffic in the ghats.

By the way why a background score on the video. Wouldn't the sweet note of the RD be much better. I am not sure how the video without the background sounds. Is it very noisy?

Yes, very very noisy considering the wind blows hitting camera. The camera was mounted on Leg guard.
Have couple of without any backgrounds which I will post further.

What a sight it was... Once again I was there, saw NOMAD exactly as I saw the gone Sunday.

All things done up.

Piece of Advice: The culprit was coil. One of the coil got short. Had I been known that, I would have disconnected the faulty coil, This would have made it possible to run my bike on single cylinder (the tempo took 700 INR).

Anyways after some checks and test runs in drizzles, went ahead to change the accelarator cable.

It was time to leave Malad and get ready for next day ride (Malad to Kalyan itself was a long drive though). By the time I left, even the drizzle started to fade. This time the route taken was Malad-Goregaon-Oshiwara-Powai-Thane-Kalyan

Needless to say, it was Saturday eve and traffic @ Powai was no less to let Nomad roll free on tarmac. With one option left to cross through the traffic was running very close to pavement.
Finally, what a sigh of relief and Eastern Express Highway was a bliss to test the beast.

Some 2-3 kms before Pathkar naka, the bridge was in pathetic condition leading to a worst traffice jam. Thank God it wasnt on Estilo.
Shifted down few gears and took Nomad through rough muddy terrain (complete offroading in dark) as I was to desparate to reach home after a long day.

Took 2 hours and it was a relief to reach home around 1030 PM. The grunt of Nomad already awakened those who slept and notified the come-back.

With less sleep due to sheer excitement, I woke up at 4 AM and finally left by 6 AM to join everyone at McD, Panvel

We took a short break @ Kamshet Toll.
A couple (maybe in late 30s or early 40s) on RE, stopped after spotting 3 RDs in a row. Gave us a Thumb-up sign and explained his better half about the mean machines.
Watching cramsters loaded on RE, we asked where they headed in this heavy rains. And the answer was, "Ashtvinayak Tour".

Amaaaazing.......
