Wonder how many noticed that! Yup, should be August instead of September.

@chintan,
Awesome write-up. Would have been nice if the pics were weaved in-between the narration, but still they do justice to the travelogue.

Others,
Would the falls not be worth a trip in the coming weeks of September? The rains haven't yet relented!

@chintan, lovely and useful travelogue as I too would love to take this route in the near future. Captions on photos would have been great, nonetheless your writeup was really great with useful details included, and the pictures too are well taken.

Till end of Sep it is OK. Beyond that it is a trickle - rather most of the watr fassl in India which are rain fed. You can google for imgaes of Jog falls and see diffenece yourself.

Nice snaps Chintan. The aerial snap of Murudeshwar is amazing. I have been to Murudeshwar a few times but I have never gone up the tower.

I don't think I can change it now since we can't edit the post after a certain time I think. Would be happy if I could change that now.

Glad that you liked the post. Didn't know about the pics since it was the first time I posted anything here otherwise would have uploaded the right way.

Travelling to Jog falls from Pune on 28 Aug. Planning to do Pune-Belgaun on 28 Aug with an afternoon start. My query is Belgaun to Jog falls route. Google maps show two route i) Via Dharwad-Hubli-Mundgod and ii) Khanapur-Haliyal-Yellapur.
Which of these rotes is recommended during the rains.
