Where was the stay in Leh? Did everyone stay at the same place, was there enough space for all cars? Costs?

On Aug 21, we stayed in Santhi Guest House near the Santhi Stupa beyond Changspa locality in Leh. Rate charged was Rs 800, I think. No car parking, on the road outside. Tel: 01982-253084
Location: Shanti Guest House, Yurthung Road - Google Maps

On Aug 25/26, we stayed in Jorchung Guest House, which is on the Thukcha Main Road off the main market, but in a secluded part of Leh, and on the road connecting the "bypass" which links up to the Airport Road & Manali road. Charged around Rs 700 or Rs 800, not sure. Great place. Car parking inside, all our cars went in without any trouble. Friendly owner Sonam. Tel: Sonam 01982-242491/07298794156, 01982-252463/ 9419818756/ 9469297884
Location: Mahey Guest House, Tukcha Main Road, Leh - Google Maps, next to Mahey Guest House

We also stayed at Santi a triple room I think was 750/- gave awesome Omeletts, the owner was friendly, only problem being the car park on the road side; we were in and out of this place 2/3 times, all the times good rooms, the hot water not constant all the time and was a pain, said they have had problems with capacity.

Thanks for the dope on Jorchung Guest House, looks good with car park. Will have to do Leh again to finish the dream of touching Padum / Zanskar.

Our team has photos of the Jorchung Guest House, let us await their uploading some. Pretty place with orchards around, very quiet and very good rooms

Day 14
25th August 2011
Kargil - Leh

By 06:30AM everybody was up and was loading the luggage to the vehicles. The vehicles were rigorously checked for any issues due to the Padhum drive too. The workshop space of the Hotel at Kargil is a great place to check the vehicles.

Day 14
25th August 2011

Kargil - Leh

Just about we were to leave Mulbek, this child caught my attention. But by then the vehicles were rolling and I had to react fast in getting this click before we miss it completely. Not the perfect shot, but it kind of captured what I wanted to keep in the memories.

That is a fine piece of advertising copy writing.
