Default Pre-winter trip to the Nordic countries - Sweden & Norway

The last business trip for the year was Oslo and Sweden, a pre-winter trip now and later to be followed by one in winter, early 2012.
New Visa was not needed as the validity of the Schengen visa earlier (2011) was vaild for a year!
Airline preferred was AF and route selected, Paris - Oslo -> Sweden (by car)

Total trip
Airline Air France
Aircrafts A340-300, Embraer 190
Total time in air 24 hours 50 min
Countries France, Norway,Sweden

The AF191 (A340) flight arrives at CDG at terminal 2C and the Norway flight AF2374 (EMB190) take off is from 2G. For change of terminals the recommended time would be 1 hour.
I had kept a 6 hour break to be on the safer side!

@CDG - Paris -9:00 am & 5 deg C

@Oslo -18:30 & -1.5 deg C

Too cold with windchills below -5 deg though equiped with the winter gear! Was greeted by my colleague for the next lap-drive to Sweden and what more could I ask as the Car was the GOLF -TDI.

Golf TDI - Looks like lots of common parts in the cabin to the Polo! No audio control on steering wheel!

The road trip to S W Sweden took 2 hours with average speed of 110 km/h. All road and hardly any life seen as both sides of the road were trees as if
driving in the jungle!

Reached Sweden close to midnight and more than sufficient to crash out after the hectic first day schedule!

Scandinavian Breakfast

Breakfast was of various sandwiches made of a large amount of different types of soft bread or crisp bread, cold cuts, cheese, cottage cheese, cream cheese, eggs, scrambled or boiled, tomatoes or cucumber, or a toast with marmalade or honey, juices, coffee,or tea. Cereals with milk, yoghurt, currants and fruits. In short a kinda feast!

The next was the best part of this trip! As part of the evening event was invited to the motor museum in Varmland (SW Sweden).
Arvika Fordonsmuseum with Thermia Museum and Club MCV Arvika -An exhibition of cars, motorcycles, horse-drawn carts and bicycles from the beginning of the 19th century until today in the beautifully restored Thermia factory built in 1923. Now the rest in pics.

Scaled models!

Typical for lunch or dinner is similar to most other European with different meat,Elk being one of them. Rice is too served with meat in gravy style.

The return was the same route with transit at Paris. Was a night halt and the return flight was the next morning! temperatures were on the +ve side and rainy.
The return trip was great and not chaotic as last time (terminal 2C). Happy to have a great trip and would cover the winter scene during the next trip!

Hey volkman, thanks for early morning drool pics. Absolutely loved the exotics. Rated 5 stars.
Are the "hellas" on SaaB Sonnet II stock (My guess, yes)? Looks menacing.

volkman thanks for putting up the travelogue man. Sweden is on my wishlist during my next European visit(if my boss decides to send me someplace there), last trip I did do a Scandinavian cruise which pretty good. Have a few close friends from Oslo and Uppsala,Sweden who are bongs and Parsees, but born and bought up there.

One question did you find CDG to be a bit dis-organized and chaotic ? Have managed to loose my luggage at CDG twice.

Also lets call it sauce and not gravy, coz if you said gravy the folks there would look lost .

Had a bad experience during July last at Terminal 2C @ CDG during return, it was so chaotic could'nt believe that it was happening. Absolutely no queue for the securty check.
But I think generally it seem to be in order. Guess the above was a one off case!

Cheers!
