Default Tiger temple

Our next stop was Tiger temple or Wat Pha Luang Ta Bua. It is controversial in the nature of keeping the tiger in captivity and their upbringing (more in Tiger Temple - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) - but as a traveler it is an unique opportunity to be up close with this majestic and graceful animal.

When we went in the tigers are already in the valley where they can be visited by mere mortal like us. And there are they are in front of our eyes - at least 20 tigers sitting in the valley.

The volunteers take one person to one of tiger, approach from behind, sit, touch, pose and the volunteers take your photos, the entire episode gets repeated for 4-5 tigers.

We all took turn and got ourselves photographed.

They didn't allow our daughters to go along with us, she was allowed to go with one of the volunteers, but obviously she didn't want to go alone with an unknown person. Missing the opportunity she started crying. We were told that in uphill there is some tiger cub, there they will allow her with us. So we went there too. And she was happy to touch the cub.

Before the tigers return from the valley, the cubs were taken home.

Now it's time for the tigers to return.

After a day's hard work, they get refreshing drink - milk.

The temple also houses, some other animals and we saw this huge bear over there.

Taking a break, drinking ice cold water after the day out in blazing sun, we went to the respite of the AC of the minivan. The return journey started through the well laid tarmac through the greens of Thailand. It was late in night when we reached back hotel. It seems the usual route is closed due to flood, and we had to take a longer route.

Default Last few moments

Though it was late, being the last day, we thought of visiting a mall, and definitely by Sky Train. However the mall was closed - we were late, so we took another train and came back.

Waiting for the sky train to arrive.

They had a complimentary tuktuk service to the main road. And we have used it quite often.

Finally the time came to say good bye to Thailand. 8th Nov morning, the taxi came as booked, and we were in airport shortly.

In the airport we had some time to kill. This Samudra Manthan (Churning of the Sea) statue from Mahabharat caught my attention.
