Road Trip to Salzburg (Austria) from Munich (Germany)
This is my first post after becoming team BHP member. I have been browsing this website since last year and much of the information was very useful.
This time I wanted to make my first contribution to Team BHP Travelogues forum and hope this information is useful for readers of this forum.
My living stay is part time in India and part time in Germany near Frankfurt.
This time we travelled to Salzburg- Austria which is at border between Germany and Austria. Our itinerary details below

Salzburg: literally- "Salt Fortress" is the fourth-largest city in Austria and the capital of the federal state of Salzburg. This place is popular for Music lovers
Salzburg was the birthplace of 18th-century composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In the mid 20th century, the city was the setting for parts of the musical and film The Sound of Music.

I drove many times from Frankfurt to Munich by car. But this time I have taken some pictures to contribute to the forum to have a feel how a German highway (Autobahn- Which has no speed limits) looks like and nice views along highways.
Headed towards south direction from Frankfurt via Stuttgart
Good In-Built Navigation system for Europe
Driving above 200 Kmph is always fun on German Highways (Called Autobahn and some stretches are without speed limit)
Autobahn`s in Germany are restricted for Trucks on Sunday`s so I could drive at 180 kmph on average.
Carrying Bi-Cycles behind for Holiday Cycling and Trekking. Also we saw caravans driving for Holidays.
Also motor bikes on trailer
Saw few solar farms along Highway.
Day2: Started our Day trip to salzburg by train with Guided tour called Radius tours and assembled at Munich Hauptbahnhof (Train station).
Boarding Double-Decker Regional Train to Salzburg , which is around 2 hour journey.
Nice view of Salzburg Fort before entering city , taken from Train.
Rose garden, This is the favorite place for many couples to get married in Europe.
Next to rose garden , Horse in water pond
We saw one couple getting married and enjoying their day on white Horse carriage.
This is common seen on River bridges of Europe. Couples lock the key to bridge and throw away their keys in river with belief that they will stay forever.
Salzburg city is mainly about Mozart, This is the place where Mozart was born. Many music lovers go inside as they have Museum with his musical instruments and also Mozart`s Hair as told by our Guide.
Entry to House
Stop for a lunch break, Pork cutlet with French fries
Pork Sausage with French fries, food was tasty.
Claimed to be one of old restaurants in Europe dated 7th Century as explained by our Guide,
Some explanation in front of restaurant with claim
Saw lot of Horse carriages in Old city, can hire this for city sightseeing.
