Beautiful trip my man........... lovely pictures too!!!
For us living on the bloody plateau a trip into the hill means driving into Khandala/Mahabeleshwar!!!!! It's a laugh compared to the heavens you drive into!!!

I was to go with the Royal Enfield Gang to the Himalayas but with college cropping up those plans had to be cancelled, I definately will experience those roads in the near future!!!

Caution. Youíll be disappointed. The time youíve chosen is the worst. As it is Manali looks like Mandi now. Add a huge number of tourists having chats on the roadside shops and what not, throwing paper plates all over the road. Narrow road with traffic jam. Artificial hike in hotels/taxi rates.

Well, if you like all these then itís a different story.

Photographs are nice. There are no flaws.
And here goes the suggestion.. Next time on a trip like this, donít start shooting moment you stop somewhere. Itís a must that you get feel of that place. See through your viewfinder and discover the best frame (according to you) to capture that feeling.

Khaadu, youíre making the picture, not your camera. A good camera only gives you better support.

Imagine going through Himachalís roughest terrain on a Gypsy.
Imagine going through the same on a Hummer.

Is that a right example??

, here are a few snaps from last year - look at the traffic up to the Rohtang pass and this is relatively early in the day, but wherever you can see the road, its a serpentine queue (don't miss the jam way below in the last one, on the plateau on the right of the picture)....its a crazy situation at this time of the year

Places like Kalpa, Sangla & Sarahan are a better bet if you prefer peace & tranquility....

Thanks for the advice Rudra will keep this in mind & inform my friends. In any case I am doubtful of the trip since it's a week long and it's very hard for me to leave work for that long a period of time.

Or, you can do a great trip via Kullu-Manikaran-Jalori Pass-Shoja-Narkanda-Shimla. Should be fun, much less crowded.
