Awesome TL and pics. Have just started reading it and am enjoying the teaser pics.
What attracted me to your TL is that I am in a similar situation as you were.
I also started planning for my yearly vacation in Jan end and decided for May mid due to school break 😊. Am also a club Mahindra member. The difference being that I am in Gurgaon and planning a trip down south that is exact opposite to your trip.
Had a question though on the self drive car. Zoomcar are forcing me to link with. Paytm account and that they will put my refunds in the paytm account (don't like it one bit). Was it the same for you? And does it work seamlessly? and second how are they in re imbursing the fuel cost? What happens if I get fuel filled up from a pump where they don't give printed receipts? Also any specifications for the fuel receipts? Another self drive company called justride specifies that the receipts should have your name on it! 😳

This would be my first time booking a self drive car, so I am a little skeptical

Wishing you a very good trip and if you need some info on south ping me.

Wrto Zoom cars, we just need the bills. either printed or written one from the pump. When we return the car, you need to hand over the bills to the person who comes to collect the car (this option if you ask for a pickup drop), else keep it in the glove box. In my case the person came collected the bills immediately entered the same in the app, and immediately the refund was processed and approved. The same day it reflected in my Payu wallet, and three days later in my Credit card.

If Paytm is the tie up now, its fine. Refund will come and stay in the wallet account. If you don't use wallets much, there is an option to transfer money to accounts for a minimal charge.

Where are you picking up your selfdrive from? I mean which place?

Thanks for the response. I am thinking of picking it up from the airport itself. I will fly into BLR and thinking of picking it up from there. How are the cars with Zoom? Can we push them for getting a new/clean car?

You can request them. But if the car is not to your liking, then be prepared for the extra hours of co-ordination at the airport. That is if they agree for a replacement.

I agree with Lalu. Generally the car condition is good. If you are really fussy, then you may have to wait. Sometimes on busy long weekends you may not get it and may have to lose a day or two. Thus it is a choice one makes.

Mashobra - Theog - Narkhanda - Hatu Peak - Kotgarh - Dalan - Theog - Mashobra

We woke up early and got ready for a long drive for the day. The idea was to go to Hatu peak and on return visit the apple orchards near Thanedhar and visit Hatkoti temple before reaching back to the resort. It was going to be a really long drive and we did not want to drive in the dark.

By 06:00 all were ready and with a quick grab of breakfast, we drove out of the resort by 06:30.
