Nice pictures ravi.

Thank you. Regarding vehicle I found this is something good and suitable for me along with Alto. I know cost wise its costly. BUT I liked it, deal is not fully done but mostly in couple of weeks. Soon I will post our some of other adventures during the vacation.

Ravi.

Thumbs up Petrol Safari ?

Hi Ravi, this thread has been silent for a long time. Looking forward to some interesting updates and pics.

By the way, I was not even aware of Safaris being available with a Petrol option!

For quite some time now I have been seeing your signature about your would be highway cruiser; looks like a Safari stole your heart.

Just a small concern though, since Petrol Safaris don't seem to be so common, would spare parts be available readily at the Tata dealers ?

I remember that you were feeling a little sad about selling off the Innova after the Ooty trip... so I was kind of expecting a Innova to come back as a reincarnation.

Anyway, if you are convinced about the Safari, I am sure it will give the pleasure of 10000s of miles of excellent trips (and travelogues).

Thank you TEAM, I have couple of site seeing trips to update bit slow these days for few reasons. It would be very difficult to get parts even after waiting for couple of weeks. But I hope If something go wrong it can be fixed in 4 weeks max

My target is to travel 30,000km in next 2 years in this Safari with 90,000/- service costs.

I have already travelled 2000km (3 trips) in last 3 weeks with ZERO maintanance. I will open seperate thread few months later about ownership of this highway star.

This expereince will be used to buy brand new Safari Petrol in 2 years If I am in a position to buy one or If TATA is still producing it.

Few more pictures of the trip and safari!

Regards,

Ravi.

About road condition: there is bad stretch in every town we cross in shimoga highway. 4km very bumpy under construction no work being done road between shimoga and bhadravati. Potholes around Shimoga town and lot of dust.

Shimoga to teerthahalli first 20km not so good road. Because of road blockage every year our road contractors got some work there so building small bridges and building the roads from the scrartch. Road is height is also being increased. So expect lot of dust and dirt track sort of roads. Otherwise good road all the way.

Default Shravanabelagola

OK. 5 yerars old plan executed now. I wanted to visit Shravanabelagola long time back and. Somehow got postponed. I have taken Pre owned Safari and relatives are ready to join us. So decision taken in 5 minutes and ladies did shopping of chocolates etc.. previous day evening.

Journey started around 7:30AM from my Nagarabhavi house after I picked up relatives from vijayanagar. Very simple straight forward journey via magadi - Kunigal - Harisave - shravanabelagola (around 140km). Except for few road work in nh48, few potholes it was smooth road allt he way. We reached Vindyagiri base by 9:40AM. Climbing steps started in 10 minutes. First we felt its difficult but once we started it was simple to climb all the way including our 5 yrs old daughter! cloudy nice weather helped a lot for sure!! Breath taking view was added bonus.

I am loading some random pictures!

We had great time at darshan and coming down from the Vindyagiri hill. Only for 50 odd steps I carried my daugahter rest all she managed herself. Then we checked ourselves and decided to try Chandragiri too which has less steps than vindyagiri. So we reached hill base.

Vehicle: Safari, Total distance covered: 300km. one way travel time while reaching shravanabelagola without nonstop: 130minutes. TOP speed: 120kmph. FE: 9kmpl with 5% AC. Journey comfort: 4/5.

Regards,

Ravi.
