2 bottles of Champagne is never a good idea if you want to wake up at 6am.
After many attempts, I raise myself by 7am. TheOne® is up, but not too well.

She rests for a bit and takes some mild medicine. Soon it's about 9.30 am and we're ready to drive to Pune.

It's Holi! The highway is almost empty and we're driving top speed in my Verna to Pune. I am waiting for Jenny to be impressed by our version of the AutoBahn, but she says nothing.



Hey, are you impressed by the road? I ask the weary german.
Hmm? Yes, Nice. Looking a little confused, with a face that says aren't all roads supposed to be like this?

Would you like to drive?

No not today, I don't feel to well, I'm going to sleep.


Soon we're in pune. People are playing holi and Jenny is excitedly trying to take pictures of people with coloured faces and clothes. Little does she realise that she too is soon going to look like them.







A quick coffee and cake at the German bakery (where else? )





Then we reach my brother's home. A little time to play with the kiddies.


My older one is upset because she's not coming to play holi with us adults.





He is a famous DJ in pune and he is playing at this big Holi party. By the time we reach pune, all my fears are put to rest and Jenny is back into full action.
I explain holi to her in detail. Soon we wear some old clothes and we're off to PLAY HOLI!!!

We get badly dressed (lol) and drive with my brother to Pyramids.
We walk in and are both collectively stunned by the display of madness and fun. This looks amazing!!

We make a lot of friends, everyone wants to talk to the firang chick, lol.

But I recognise the smell of permanent colours. I quickly motion to her that we should leave, enough fun as been had, we don't need to walk around looking purple for the rest of the week.

We leave, walking. It's been a lot of fun.



Unfortunately my slippers have broken and I am barefoot. Walking in the hot afternoon on concrete has got me barefoot tap dancing. It is horrid and painful. TO make matters worse, the main road is freshly laid out concrete with a lot of debris and rubble. I have a tough time walking for a long while before a rickshaw will take us in our rather wet state

The colour is everywhere, even on my teeth. As i suspected it is not water colour and it will take a LOT of hard work to get it off.

You know my family! spread thru out India and There'll be weddings happening all the time. If dates are given earlier, maybe I can arrange 1 to be held according to that.
Then, there're lots of Team-BHPians waiting to get into some kind of a wedlock! We can always find one suiting your visit.

Whatever it is, you are coming to Kerala next time. Period!
