Default [Part 1] HYD-CCU|22 Hours in TOYOTA Innova

It was a boring hot afternoon...and wait!

I dont want to create the trouble of narrating the whole story line by line and therfore let the pictures do the talking.

However here is some basic facts:

Journey: HYD-CCU (Via Khammam, Vizag, BBSR)
Vehicle: Innova
Pax: One
Time: 20 Hours Driving + 2 Hours (Toll etc.)= 22 Hours (Door 2 Door)
Start: 5 pm 09 May 2008 End: 3 pm 10 May 2008

There is a Part 2 also of this

Obviously CCU-HYD which is to happen a few days from now.

Default more pictures

The Car Ignition that fired in Hyderabad was shut off (22 Hours) only after the 1500 Kms Journey was over.

Pictures Taken: 350+ *But Only the Best Ones are shown here. Else I have to start looking for a Hobby Outsourcing Agent to upload the massive numbers.

Shutter Speed:
Most Pictures Taken from a Moving Vehicle and some at 1/500th sec shutter speed.

Thanks for the patronage

. .. and about passion? add photography too to the driving (esp. the long range ones).

People asked me why I did this trip when I get FOC air tickets.// here are the reasons
  • Surprised Parents at Kol and also
  • Surprised My Spouse (She left HYD to CCU Next Day Morning and My desire was to surprise her at CCU airport)
  • Car to do 5k Kms for next service
  • I wanted to practice my night driving skills (esp. after the Bidar and Humnanbad Trips)... and this time I did not blink... no food... no halts (<5-10 mins) during the entire trip.
  • Wanted to get Used to Driving the Vehicle
  • Wanted to experience the Vehicles Performance under all conditions
  • Wanted to drive it in Kolkata Traffic
  • and... wanted a much needed break

great journey. 22 hours at a stretch is extremely good. When I went to Hyderabad last year I halted at Vizag.

Man watch out. This is NOT at all a safe driving practice. Even Napolean is rumored to take quick cat naps during battles. Stretching a drive beyond 12 hours will induce fatigue. This means it will reduce your reaction times.

Doesnt watching all the headlights make your eyes dizzy?

'Dada, baarir taan. Ki Korbo'

Sorry for the Bong Slang but its best described as feeling Homesick. But that Solapur, Humnabad thing was the cup-warmer for this trip. I gotta set my hands on this behemoth isnt it?

I did this trip without letting anyone know (exception of HvKumar)

And there are surprises in store for the CCU-HYD

Basu, That was one hell of a trip. I can't imagine how you can drive for 22 hours at a stretch. I personally feel keeping such targets while driving takes the fun out of the trip.

But, kudos to you for doing it again and again! Take care and drive safe!
