There is Sajjangad also nearby, but I dont think we can see it this close by from NH4

after lunch, we started towards amboli via gargoti-uttur-ajra road.
earlier, we opted to take sankeshwar route but as we were traveling by hired tourist bus, we had to pay rs 8000 only as karnataka rto tax for entering in karnataka. we droped this idea.
gargoti route is slow and narrow roads. everywhare, colour was green. rain started and upto amboli, it became normal to heavy.
we entered in amboli at 0530 pm.
NO MOBILE SIGNAL. oh no!
we checked in mtdc owned GREEN VALLEY RESORT managed by viththal kamat group. we had reserved five family suits. no room shortage.




there was fog/mist. we were not able to see beyond 50 feet.

after taking rest for 30 min, we headed to ghat by our bus.

we parked our bus near vithal kamat restaurant at ghat.
we asked driver to stay there. at that time, we were not geared for any rain bath. we had left all our mobiles, cameras, cloths, money at resort. only one member was having mobile, money.
we went to sunset point. we were walking in ghat.
as there was fog/mist everywhere, we were not able to see beyond 80 feet. forget about sunset.


at sunset point, we saw one board showing waterfall - 2km. it was almost 0620 pm. we decided to go waterfall walking in ghat. it was down walk. we were able to walk fast. two members went back midway. effect of booze. we thought that after reaching to waterfall, we will call busdriver there.
after walking for 15 min, we saw some roadside temperary canteens operated by locals. some cars were parked. we were hearing sound of waterfall. we approached a bridge. we turned our faces leftside.
oh my god! there was waterfall, huge waterfall.
yes, this is what we wanted.


this waterfall was near to road. it is so near that anyone traveling in this ghat, just stop on the bridge, do not get down, click photo, go away.

there was staircase at rightside to go near waterfall. water was flowing on staircase.

we climbed staircase, came to base of this fall.
this is what we wanted and we got it.

it was almost dark. we headed to roadside canteen. we ate hot onion pakoras, had hot tea.
we were not able to contact bus driver. it was dark. all we had option was to climb this ghat for almost 3km with drenched cloth in dark.
and rescue came. one minidor tempo stopped at canteen with supplies. we talked the tempo driver. he agreed to take us to the bus for 100 rs.
two members sat in cabin with driver. other 14 members were standing in cargo area of that poor minidor. too much load for that minidor. journey started and we started to sing with all energy left in us. it was fun. tempo took 15 min to climb 3 km ghat section.
we headed to resort by bus.
now, it was party time. in our group, two members are wine manufacturer. no problem of booze. we ordered our food to restaurant at resort. serving time needed was 1 hour. meantime, we finished our booze party all sitting in one suit.
had dinner. unfotunatly, no fish, off season for catch. other nonveg items presented.
it was great fun. we went to sleep. first day ended.

It would be better to term it as NH4 rather than GQ4. NH4 is part of GQ(Golden Quadrilateral), but haven't seen anything as GQ4.

It is true.
It is not GQ4. It is golden quadrilateral's NH4.
Again, it is not NH4. It is India's national highway number four.
